Unfortunately its cost me over $1,000 by now and Im just going to buy a desktop tomorrow exclusively for bovada, but its been quite frustrating and customer service has not been much help.
Save yourself some money and just get a windows 7 key and install that via boot camp. Boot into windows 7 whenever you want to play poker.

If you need a big screen then check and see if your gfx card is compatible with external monitors, if so, get a 24" external and hook that up. You have essentially a desktop for under $200.

If your MBA isn't fast enough to do that then you might have to just buy a desktop.

I play on my 2011 Macbook Pro with zero issues on windows. On mac the client is awful.

yes, I've sent numerous emails to them as well as the error text, their responses have ranged from everyone gets disconnected because of their bad internet to you may need to update flash and java. Its the only application that I have that crashes.

Thanks, I already have 2 24's and a 27 from when I used to play online, so just need a cheap 300 tower and it should do the trick.

Yeah I agree, your MBA won't be able to handle the resolution on multiple monitors in 1080p+ anyways.

Can't make a deposit until my account is verified? Hmm, I thought that was only for withdrawals. Anybody else have this problem? How long does it usually take to get up and running.

Yea, its impossible to know, because even 0.1% occurrences do happen. Usually when I get to low probability events like that though, I give a little more weight to the possibility that my winrate may not be where I thought it was over that sample. So maybe take a few days off and review your hands and see if you can find some leaks, etc.

Could be nothing but variance, but it could be that your play or your opponents play has been siphoning a good portion of your winrate (+ negative variance of course). Just consider all the possibilities and work at maintaining a good mindset at the tables. I know I'm usually going nuts mentally after a prolonged runbad.

50-100K hands is a solid sample size.

I'm running ~50 buy ins under EV at 10nl/25nl over 165k hands and it's taken 6bb/100 off of my winrate (all at 6max NLHE) on Bovada.

That's standard. It takes less than hour for them to verify once you send a copy of Driver's License and Debit/credit card. And, the verification form, too.

Annoying, but nice because you don't have to hassle with anything when you go to cash out.

All they asked was for a photo copy of my driver's license. I emailed it to them, then a couple hours later I receive an email saying my account is temporarily disabled. "You have registered information which we are unable to verify." Then they asked for a photo copy of my driver's license again, which I resent once more. Now the waiting game continues!

Never had this problem on any other site.

Call them, they are usually much more helpful and efficient via phone.

Did you fill out and submit the verification form? That's probably what they're waiting on.

You have to print it out and make an imprint of your debit/credit card. Then, scan it and send it in.

Did that. The lady said to send in my driver's license and gave me an email address and said it would allow me to deposit after they verified it. But they never have, instead sent an email about my info since I wasn't sure if I had entered my mother's maiden name or make something up, they had it on file and I confirmed that it was correct to her.

Not sure what the hold up is now. I'm thinking if I call back the lady won't be able to verify anything herself and I'm still waiting on whoever does the verification.

UPDATE:

I called them back, everything is verified and working now. They had to do the transaction over the phone, it didn't work on my end after I hung up said unrecognized error. Anybody ever receive that? I'm hoping it will work fine next time I want to deposit so I don't have to call each time.

Who has ever won a lucky seat draw? Seems like they give a lot of these out routinely and I never have won one.

Multiple people ITT have. I haven't, but I think the odds are relatively long.

thanks. i mean im still confident but yea ur right mentally im prob a lil weaker after all this runbad. its just like recently it seems like all my aipf's are losing regardless if im 80/20, 70/30, 50/50. n if its not aipf they flop sets to my overpair, etc. but im hoping it turns around eventually. well see

I've won 2 since making my first deposit in August of 2013. I play very small stakes MTT's and STT's.

are the $5 double up turbos - 6 max kind of a gimmick?

not really doubling up. you pay $5 win $10 but a net profit of just $5 after entrance fee

I think the triple ups would better constitute a "double-up"

You buy in the tourney with $5. If you cash, you get $10*, 10 is twice as much 5. How is that not a double up?

(*well you actually would get $9.50 b/c rake)
