Yeah it sucks but I don't see why you can't just deposit $10 and be done with it.

...commented in OP about that point exactly. It's unethical and kinda like being bullied. I don't like being bullied, so 888 won't get another deposit from me unless I choose to give it to them which is highly unlikely.

It's the principle of the thing, you shouldn't be forced to make a deposit and pay vig to access your money that you already deposited and won a tournament with, especially when the site in question is already charging a vig to deposit and withdraw.

On a personal note i'm not playing another tournament on 888 until this is resolved. It is unacceptable that a player with a verified, active account has ZERO methods to withdraw on 888 and this is official 888 policy.

@888rep, please address this issue immediately or I will switch my tune on 888 from 'the best non stars site' to 'scam site'. Your currency exchange vig is a borderline scam already, forcing people to deposit to withdraw money they have already won from a deposit they have made crosses the line. I love you guys, please don't make me trash you publicly on televised feature tables in the future. Just sort out a way for your customers to actually, you know, withdraw the money they have won without making a deposit.

Also re: checks, check was not an option according to their support. The actual words were 'you can not make a withdrawal unless you make another deposit first'. If this information is inaccurate, please correct it 888Rep

Also, to correct any misconception, Astrogirl23 DID deposit using a credit card, her account was not funded via transfer. She changed banks since depositing and that credit card no longer exists. She was told she has NO methods available for withdrawal despite having an active and verified account and funds exclusively won at the tables available for withdrawal, unless she makes a deposit first. This is unacceptable for a major poker site. That is the issue.

The first consultant, Ameena, told me I must make a deposit with a new card before I can withdraw. She would not answer any other questions and just kept on repeating herself very rudely insisting that continue listening to her. After asking numerous times to speak to a supervisor she finally agreed. An hour later a supervisor, Audra, returned my call.

Audra also repeated the same information to me; in order to withdraw any of my winnings I must make a deposit. I asked her very clearly "are you telling me that the only way for me to currently withdraw my money to a valid account is to make a deposit?". For some reason instead of just saying 'yes that is what I am saying' she repeated the long winded spiel about how she was going to forward to transactions to cancel the invalid card and then I could make a deposit etc etc. I asked again very clearly "Can you confirm the only way for me to currently withdraw my money to a valid account is to make a deposit?"... again the spiel. This happened no less than a dozen times, with much frustration, before she finally answered "No, there is no other way for you to withdraw your money without making a deposit" and yes I did clarify that that means, no bank wire, skrill, poli etc. I asked her if they were trained to repeat themselves over and over and she said they were as it is meant to "reassure" the customer. So frustrating! I guess they assume all customers are stupid and incapable of conversing.

My position is clear; I won the money fair and square and I would like to withdraw at least part of my winnings. I should be able to access my money without being forced to make a deposit. Aside from the exchange rate fees that would be incurred, I believe it is unethical practice.

Some people might say just make the deposit and be done with it, but I don't see why I, or anyone else, should have to. What if the person trying to make the withdrawal has no money and that is why they need to withdraw, it's a real possibility. Anyway it's the principle of the matter.

The 888 withdrawal policy explains that by making a deposit the card details will be verified and then the card will be available for withdrawal at a later date. It does no state that should the initial verified card be cancelled/invalid you will then be required to make another deposit before you can withdraw your money.

I will probably just transfer to a friend for the time being, but any advice on how I might get a valid withdrawal method attached to my account without depositing would be appreciated. Also any suggestions about how to get 888 to update their withdrawal methods and customer service would be helpful.
Could you please supply me with your real 888poker user name, thanks.

Hi Astrogirl,

First of all apologies for the responses you have received up to this point -I assure you it will be addressed.

What my colleagues have been stating have been partially correct; however they did not give you all of your withdrawal options; so allow me to explain. In line with your request to have the Visa card (that we have on record from your deposits) closed, we have done so. Therefore, your options now for withdrawal are wire transfer or bank draft. In order to process the wire transfer, you will need to provide us with the necessary bank details -this you can do via the cashier.

If you wish to have the money withdrawn to a different card, then there has to be a recorded deposit with that card in our system. Our withdrawal policy states that we credit back to [active] payment methods previously used; hence why this is required.

I hope this explains it and, again, apologies for any and all confusion caused.

Thanks for your help 888Rep, i'm sure she'll see the response when she wakes up. Perhaps some re-training of your customer support team may be in order as the policy was not correctly explained either over the phone or via email despite numerous attempts. I'll get Astrogirl23 to contact you if there are any further problems.

Hi 888Rep,

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

I have checked this morning and there are now options available for me to withdraw in the cashier which were not available to me when speaking with the previous consultants. Just to be clear I was not informed by Ameena or Audra that these options would be made available in the cashier once the invalid card was removed. Jenane M. from the Transactions Team replied to my email this morning and by informing that my invalid account had been closed. She did not inform me that new options would be available in cashier to withdraw my funds which is rather slack considering that was my issue in the first place. Hopefully things can be improved from your end so no one else has to go through the same rigmarole.

Well, just as an observer over here, but had this issue been brought up in the Party thread, Party Rep would of simply ignored it... So once again 888 Rep, thx for the personable help, it is refreshing to see a direct interaction that actually answers/solves issues.

Now my question, for you, or anyone else reading this thread. How much is the exchange rate taking by 888 for depositing/withdrawing? For, being a Canadian, I made a deposit of 1000 US$ and withdraw exactly the same amount, about 10 days later (considering the wait period and 2 days to make money) but it cost me 1149.28 Canadian$ and I only got back 1057.71$. So my question is, how much is the exchange fee and is this standard? Thx

That is totally standard on 888. It's shocking.

When I ask them about it they just me a load of crap about it being competitive market rate blah blah

Hiya Astrogirl,

I assure you that is being addressed internally. Let me know if you encounter any issues with your withdrawal; but I am sure it should be smooth sailing from here on.

Hey 888Rep I want ro report a minor bug.

If downloaded 888poker software in Spanish and then in-play changed to english, restart software is going to give an error. Only solution is to download softare again.

I wanted to leave it in english permanenlty and only solution was to download software in english directly.

ALSO, PLEASE fix font size for stacks, if tiled for 4-5 tables it is just damn small.

a response from 888support i was asking for a credit because i was disconnected till blind-out

"In this tournament I have located a disconnection, however as my colleague has already advised you our monitoring systems indicated that we were not experiencing any problems with our servers at this time, I can also confirm that the issue was not experienced by all players and the tournament continued as normal."

upon investigation at MY END i found this STARTLING occurence [stacking the decks in my eyes]

the RNG decided to trow in a hand that was from an earlier sequence
hence the disconnection ???????????

hand# 25 is 597601942
24 is 02021
23 is 02483 which is were disconnection occured

the next hand is in "question" and when "the disconnect @ my end started

hand no 22 which is 597602250

the next hand 21 which is 597602528 returning back to the hand sequencing for the game
but not reconnecting me , instead showing "sitout" till end of game

888 have dealt me a "pre-determined hand" and STIIL not explained to me either thru my888 forum [now banned because i put this up as a TEST in their management feedback pages ] , by return e-mail [8 sent] , or any other means of communicating ,

so perhaps my concerns can be addressed here ,

Now that Skrill is out for Canadians, what is the consensus best method of making larger-amount deposits to 888? Most of the deposit options (other than bank wire) in the 888 cashier have quite low deposit limits. Is bank wire really the only other option? Has anyone had good experiences with any of the deposit methods offered?

>>>> Also, does 888 have player-to-player transfers, and is there a max transfer?
