It's possible it started at 25/25, I can't remember but I know I played a $1500 that year also and it started with 1500 chips and 25/25 blinds with 1 hour levels.
So you have to be P. Antonious or the like to run your stack to over 200k on day 1? Sheesh. I've played and busted early on day 1 for 5 or 6 times completely card dead for the entire duration of my play.
These guys just sit down and spin it up to massive stacks. Makes me ill.

Womp womp
I hear ya man, but there are probably 20 or so of these guys that you would feel the same way about and maybe 10 of them are bust today
I am confused about something. So I know they randomly draw the tables and from there ESPN chooses the feature tables that they want. But today I was there in person and they had the 2 main feature tables up and running about an hour before the dinner break (so about 1 hour before the streaming actually started, I guess to get the players accustomed to the table before actually going on TV).
But I went over to look at the tertiary feature table and did not recognize one face there. So I figured it was featuring someone I just didnt recognize, however there was 1 empty seat with no chips. Later when Phil Hellmuth made his grand entrance, that was the seat he was ushered to, a full 3 hours after the table had been playing there. He had not registered yet as there was no stack there being blinded off. So how were they able to "reserve" that spot for him if he had not registered yet? The table played 8 handed for almost a full 2 levels before Hellmuth showed up. Did they make an exception to the rules just for the grand superhero entrance?
Definite exception, the stack should have been there before he sat down and been blinded off for 3hrs.

At the end of this video the floor introduces the chipstack while Phil looks down on it.
wow pretty amazing how many genius keyboard warriors like @Wretchy there are in poker. I'll go back to my rich lifestyle indeed (that's an insult)? You know I got rich from poker, right? You maybe could too one day if you drastically improved your arrogance to skill ratio #butnah

I wish I could just ignore people's tweets but this irks me so much. Everyone who posted here is epitomizing exactly what is wrong with poker these days. Why it's not fun for amateurs anymore. Basically I guess it just boils down to you're kind of a bunch of *******s, pls stop.
confirmed, i guess? She certainly comes off like a super arrogant, unhappy, self-loathing kind of person.
The most surprising thing to me reading her twitter is that she's been around for a long time, so you'd think she'd be used to this trolling etc. by now. However she just falls into the trap and starts rambling on about how rich she is blah blah. I'd like to see her not get pulled down by this stuff but what can ya do.
I will disagree with one thing she said. I think everything that is wrong with poker today is the fact we have some jerks in government who decided we couldn't play online anymore. I can deal with the attitudes playing at home from my computer. ;P
