I listened to today's PokerRoad Radio and and Brad Booth talks about openly about his struggles playing online. It starts when Ali questions about him never having read a poker book he says maybe he should now. He says everyone knows he's going through a rough patch and if they don't he'd like to make it public knowledge. He admits how he would repeatedly win a few hundred thousand live and put it online and bust it. Besides poor bankroll management, he also mentions the competition is so good online nowadays and he basically overestimated his edge in tough games.

I know all of this isn't news but I have to say I really admire his honesty and humility on this show. He didn't have to go on this show at all if he wanted to hide and he could have given a smug answer to redirect the conversation away from this. He said his motto now is no matter much money you have, all you can offer is yourself and no sense pretending to be something you're not. Think of how many "tv pros" have similar issues and usually the most you might hear about it is a half sentence about it once they have bounced back fully. Kudos to Brad IMO.

yeah, i have no respect for anyone just because they run good in a few live donkaments. beating online cash is the only way to earn my respect as a good poker player.

Are we really classifying Brad Booth as a live tourney player? He is a live cash game player, who plays some tournaments.

Yeah, Brad's the man. He makes lots of sick plays live and is obviously real good. He could beat online eventually if he put in the time.

I watched him live today at Mandalay Bay on WPT. He bluffed some dude who had top two pair with basically no draws except runner runner flush which was very unlikely the way he played it. He came off though as a cool mother****** unlike the most of you deuches posting replies.

I don't think it really matter to the NVG hatertards who have never sat in a live game in their lives.

Yep, cos he was definitely playing his cards in that hand.

And it was a $55k pot.

But yeah, good players never overbet the pot with huge hands, so it was obvious he was bluffing.

Brad is an awesome guy. He's as down to earth a celebrity as you'll ever meet in your whole life.

I don't want to take anything from anyone, but first of all the fact that you don't respect someone you probably don't even know personally, but know who he is, is immature in my eyes. Just how i feel. Second, i'm tired of people thinking that online poker is the only way to get respect.
When I first started playing poker seriously, I learned by playing in casinos everyday for 17 months. Literally everyday. It is a far more realistic approach to learning how to play poker in my eyes, but who the hell am I right? Maybe it's why my opinion is so biased. Anyways I am not taking anything from any connssumate online poker players, as i have tried my hand at all four forms of poker on stars, and it is not easy, espically making the transition from one to the other, Live to computer screen that is. Anyways I once seen BB walking in the back area of the Wynn poker room and the look on his face was such an eye opening realization the poker is tuff on people sometimes. So to say that you don't respect anyone who can't beat online cash is absurd in my eyes. It's not a shot at you it's just something I felt I had to say. That's when i knew he was an ok guy if he wanted to be, and hearing about his interview and how he conducted himself is no surprise to me.

you totally misread my post. i never said i do not respect people because they play live, nor did i say i do not respect anyone as a person because they cannot beat online poker. i merely meant that winning live donkaments does not earn my respect(as a good poker player, not as a person), and that cash is how i judge people. the only reason i say online cash rather than live is because it difficult to have a good sample size live. for instance, anyone can run good for 30k hands online, but that does not make them a good player. online that takes me a few days, live it would take months. so people who have beat live for years and years i guess i do respect their game for it.

also, my statement was not directed at BB at all, i do not even know him, nor do i watch tv poker. it was just a general comment.
