who actually thinks this is the last time he'll have another melt down in a cardroom? I can see him doing this again.

If hellmuth did this he wouldn't get DQ'ed barely even penalized but I do think there should be zero tolerance for berating dealers, crumbling cards, and berating other players at the table

The "Ryan Eriquezzo" rule will be enforced at this year's WSOP.

The word "beating" here is being used a bit too casually. I'm not sure Amanda has ever said he "beat the crap out of her". I'm not nominating the guy for humanitarian of the year but it doesn't sound like she was injured or he was arrested.

Are you going to make us listen to all 56 minutes or tell us when in the segment she discusses what happened?

The Story of Me and Amanda:

I’m sure that many of you have been informed in one way or another of the way my relationship with Amanda ended. It was put on public display in an arguably distasteful manner, and I’m sure there are scores of opinions out there about the topic that have been derived from no more than hearsay, or have been come to based upon very minimal factual material on the subject. I have waited for two months to publicly address this issue because I have needed that long to get myself into a place where I could process it and be honest with myself about it. This is my attempt to clear the air in terms of what happened this summer between the two of us, and more importantly throughout our entire relationship that ended up culminating into the debacle that occurred during the bubble of the national championship. ... contd.

I can't believe how many people are saying the penalty was too harsh. It's pretty simple. If you don't want to get penalized, don't destroy the cards. Why does anyone sympathize with a D-bag like this?

b/c america has gone soft and lost its way.

lol at ppl complaining about Parx' initial response to this d-bag. poker needs a governing body so that clowns like this are permanently banned. the game needs to root these ppl out so that it can grow and possibly get sponsorship opportunities in the future.

LOL. America has gone soft. That's a good one.

We're talking about playing a game of chance in a casino. You know, that place full of degenerate gamblers. Not a whole lot separates venues or the people who play poker at places like Parx, a casino in Monaco or some hole in Atlantic City.

Guys like Ryan are actually good for the game and provide some much needed entertainment. Would you rather have that in-your-face bad behavior or play against the quiet angle shooting cheaters who never say a thing.

The casino accepted Ryan's money to gamble in a poker tournament. If he goes so far as to break the rules and disrupt the progress of the game, give him a penalty but don't kick him out.

The game will die a slow death if we kick out the characters!

GL @ WSOP this year Ryan, you let your emotions get the best of you in a situation where they should have; put it behind you and take down (another) big score.

That shouldn't be a factor, although I know it is. Everyone should be treated fairly, whether it be a guy who drops $50k per night in the pit, a recreational tournament player, or a high profile professional player. I know when DNegs and Hellmuth walk into a casino they are treated different than any other professional player, but that shouldn't be the case.

I would like to think people as high profile as DNegs and Hellmuth wouldn't crumple cards, but if they did I would like to believe they would have gotten the same punishment.

Why does the quiet player have to be an angle-shooter and a cheater? You know there are actually good people in poker. Everyone isn't a cheater or an *******.

+1 We should all do what we can to preserve the positive image that poker enjoys in the world.

I agree, but we don't need characters who crumple cards and throw fits before the staff while calling themselves professionals. I know Hellmuth does that a lot and I don't think that is good for the game. I would like to see more animated players at the tables, but in a good way. I think DNegs acts very favorable at the tables by talking to amateurs, laughing and enjoying the game. As a professional player Ryan should understand there are such things as badbeats and if you play MTTs for a living you should understand they are part of the game. It's not like this was a one outer on the bubble or a one outer to win the tournament, even in those situation I don't think it is ok to act the way he did (or the way it was reported through twitter/social media). I also think there is a decent chance Twitter kind of blew up the situation.

There should be the same rules for everyone.

Clearly, there aren't.

Yes I can see the players lining up now to play with Ryan. He's such a character!!!!! I'm sure the amateurs love seeing people act like this and will make sure they return to play again. It's a great value. For your buyin you get to play poker and be entertained by this character.

I think myself and many others would rather play with nice people that don't have temper tantrums and act like children when they take a bad beat. If I wanted to be entertained by idiots I'd go watch worldstar.

His behavior is unacceptable and I think all casinos should ban him just like they would ban a cheater. He needs professional help and probably is a danger to himself and others around him.

He should also still be taught a lesson about why you don't hit girls. Only weak little boys hit girls because they can't beat up on anyone else.
