This issue is more about how you're supposed to act in a public place and less about the monetary damage inflicted. Think about it this way: if a grown man throws a temper tantrum in a shopping mall, grocery store, night club, movie theater etc. without damaging any property should he be allowed to stay there? Hell no! He's disturbing other customers and employees and acting in a socially unacceptable way. Also, people who act in such aggressive ways are the most likely candidates to inflict physical harm on others, so it's a good pre-emptive measure to kick them out. Good riddance.

In each of these instances, the person in question isn't being denied several thousand dollars in equity by being kicked out. The cost of being DQed from a tournament is so much greater by several orders of magnitude that the situation is not comparable. It would be more like saying that if someone throws a tantrum in a grocery store, the store has a right to kick them out and also confiscate their car that's in the parking lot.

Re: Ryan Eriquezzo Rips Cards, Gets DQed From Parx, Complains About It On Twitter

This guy is great and most of all delusional. The job of a poker room is to give us a safe, legal place to poker. We pay rake for these services. They pay for all the tables, cards, security etc..... The cards are the PROPERTY of PARX. They have every right to throw someone off of their property for destroying their stuff. For this tool to actually argue he should have gotten a penalty is ludicrous. How about just conduct yourself in a manner that allows you to control your emotional outbursts. If you can't control your emotions ( as this guy has demonstrated in the past) then seek some help from a psychologist or doctor. Clearly this guy has problems which are detrimental to his well being. With that said, the friends and poker players defending him are doing him no favors in life by arguing or agreeing with his stance.

Pretty funny how he complains about getting unfair treatment, then goes on about how much business he gives them and how he should be getting special treatment.

This probably happens everyday around the World at different card rooms so I don't see how this is thread worthy. I honestly have never even heard of this guy either. Twitter really needs to go away.

More like you pay a ho then slap her around before getting busy. Her pimp rushes in, cuts you wide, deep and repeatedly, then throws you out. Are you still "entitled" to your...culmination?

It's not the floors responsibility to listen intently to every word coming out a childish, ranting moron's mouth and then stop and say, "I am sorry, sir. Did you say you were going to torch the place. Or did you say you were going to torch this place on Twitter? It was tough to make out there and we want to be sure we get this penalty correct."

Guy needs to act like he has been there before. Which means that approximately 20% of the time, those aces are getting cracked.

Matt Glantz responds:

Quote:
To be clear @RyanEriquezzo got DQd for crumpling cards, throwing the cards 12 feet behind the table, shoving entire stack across the table.
Quote:
All of which he admits. Calling the dealer a 'fat mfer' which he does not admit is what crossed the line for the floor to DQ him.

I am friends with @RyanEriquezzo and will continue to be so, but actions like his will not be tolerated @parxpokerroom

Woah woah woah. I had no idea that this involved a potentially overweight dealer. I'll have to reserve judgement of Eriquezzo until I see pictures of said dealer.

So what would happen if Hellmuth would have done this or any other big name pro? Do you think they would have received the same punishment?

Re: Ryan Eriquezzo Rips Cards, Gets DQed From Parx, Complains About It On Twitter

I was there playing parx ME 1600. Ryan clearly acted in a harsh, threaten manner. I thought the penalty was justified. Ryan was not drunk. He is a season pro and should be able to control his emotion better. AA gets crack by inferior cards many times in your poker life. His action and reaction was very aggressive.

I think parx made the right call.

Only 24 hour ban.

But according to Ryan's tweet... he is not going back to Parx anytime soon.

No it doesn't change a thing. A person could have just bought a thousand dollar wine bottle in a restaurant, if he starts causing trouble he will get thrown out and the bottle will stay in the bar. The airport/airplane example is also valid. Another would be throwing a temper tantrum at a police, which has worse consequences than doing it to a civilian. Just like throwing a temper tantrum during a poker tournament is worse than a cash game, because if he did this during a cash game he would get thrown out but could take his money with him. It's about knowing that breaking the rules will result in different outcomes depending on the situation.

Your last argument about confiscating a car is as retarded as your view on this issue. I'm sorry your friend is a douchebag and got DQ'd because of it.

To people saying it cost him 1.6kish in equity, I think you're way too high. I'm assuming his doing this occurred after an event which cost him a significant amount of equity. Most people don't throw tantrums after doubling up.

And yeah my first interaction with him was when he threw a card in the air and it got caught in the ceiling so not like this is new or anything.
