don't know if it will die. i just know that it should. cash plays is their strongest show and is now gone to DC (where it will be much better b/c it won't be anywhere near sebok). i was a religious listener of circuit/pokerwire, but now never listen to PRR b/c, well, it sux.

the other shows...meh.

i see what pokerroad is going for, but...no.

I totally disagree with you about the quality of content, but this seems to be a very hard business to make profitable so it could very likely happen nonetheless.

Oh, and after Bob left he came on the phone one day and said that he'd be back. I realize this only means there is some chance of it, but it is possible.

I only went there to listen to Bart in Cash Plays. No reason now, Gaving and Sebock blow.

Cash plays was an easy stand out on PR and should be just as good if not better on DC as it sounds like Bart will be getting paid properly for the effort he puts in. The trouble with pokercasts generally is good players dont automatically make for good, entertaining radio and bart is somewhat unique in that he can do both.

For me that's where BPS has fallen a bit since shaniac joined, he is clearly a very smart and talented poker player he just has trouble expressing himself in an informative and entertaining way - not too mention he comes off a little under prepared at times and while i respect him not wanting to speak on things he has limited knowledge of, it begs the question, why not have someone on who does stay current on the in's and out's of the poker week?

PRR for mine is still entertaining and more like a conversation between friends stumbling around the tourney circuit which i think has a mass appeal quality the other hardcore strategy shows don't (ie. eventhough i prefer CP and AS i could see why the casual poker enthusiast would respond favorably). My guess is PRR finds a home on satellite radio and this will eventually push PR into the public eye and therefore into profitability via ad revenue.

Also the red forum with no noise is a great idea and something i would like to see here in an 'online pro only kind of way' as it would take advantage of the poker knowledge that floats through 2+2 and perhaps entice more posts from them on strategy if they don't have to deal with the noise from the cheap seats.

Final note - 2+2 pokercast equals the best balance of poker news/entertainment out there IMO

More pokerroad plz. Dunno what's with all the haters. Don't listen to it if you don't like it. I do wish that Haralabob would come back though.

It might die, but not for the reasons you listed.

The site gets roughly 2,000 unique visitors daily...
Mostly unemployed poker wannabees...
So, therefore, it's basically worthless...
In fact, the site has negative economic value.

But that misses the point.

It's a big PR machine for BG and friends...
And fame for BG is priceless.

Iam pretty sure Joe doesnt do PR for the money. I might be wrong but i really doubt they make much money from this. So why are they doing this? Well i think Joe had great passion for poker and support poker. What he is doing with pokerroad radio is really amazing isnt it? Its free, it is entertaining, and people is here bitching about it????Are you idiots ok seriously. We should all bow big for Barry and Joe clap clap clap clap.

I think it is also to create a brand that can in the future generate a consistent non-poker playing income thru ad revenue but yes it is good that it can be consumed for free

Pokerroad will not die, because shirtroad is there to make all the monies to cover expenses.

I think the lack of cash plays now takes the media content from great to ok. That's not really the point as the poker content is good enough to make $ in the pre-uigea era. There probably isn't enough ad money now for pokerroad to be profitable. The main prr show is garbage and I don't foresee it getting on a satellite radio station where they can make money. Trade Huff for Ali and they might have a shot at something more mainstream on sat radio. It really is a horrible horrible time to attempt a site like pokerroad. I wish them all the best and hope it becomes a money making venture.

But I agree with OP that Pokerroad will die, at least alot of the audio and video content.
