Certainly not lots of PLO. (And not a pleasant interface.)

I'm just curious what a level 150 player is lol, chill dude.

I moved out of Ontario to PEI 9 months ago. Don't understand why anyone would live there unless you have a very high paying job tied to Toronto.

for someone complaining about the debt if I were to play the devils advocate technically this is a good thing for that problem. its not real money anyway tho. so its kind of strange you complain about the debt and the deficit in the same post because one is a money grab to reduce it

Yeah, was talking about NLHE. Actually, I don't think reasonable stakes PLO runs on any site except GG.

Confirmed insane that it's 2022 and Party software is still this terrible, though. And to think it's been dramatically improved in recent years lmao

Do you know how much cops make? You think I'd leave Ontario? lol. Milk the gig until the province is insolvent, that's the Canadian Way eh?

has anyone found that hands per hour is way less in the stars ontario pool vs when playing the same stake in the global pool?

It'd probably be due to more flops being seen/more multiway pots because of more recreational players.

Ontario Market is Trash Can AF.

If you play in Ontario you are getting royally ripped off. Unless you like getting 10% rakeback and paying high rake you are getting scammed. I can get like 50% rakeback on ACR with the rake chase. Best you can get in Ontario is on Party Poker and they give like 20% lmao. It's so garbo. And that's only if you pay like $1200 in rake or some **** for the week. You are being ripped off if you play on any of those trash can sites. Call the ACGO and let them know you don't want to be ripped off by the Ontario government and to hire someone actually competent to figure this mess out.

If anyone has any insight into playing on ACR from Ontario nowadays, that'd be great! Like, would we even be able to cash out if we wanted to?
Yes that's where I play. Haven't cashed out yet but I'm sure it will be fine.

Why everyone's obsession with the rake and rakeback? That's how I know when someone's a shitty player if they bitch about rake and rakeback. Since the Ontario only switch on stars, I've crushed the games. I was a breakeven/small loser pre Ontario. The play is so much softer that I really don't care that the rake is higher. Rake/rakeback is such a small part of your profit if your a good winning player. If you offer me a tough site with 75% rakeback where I'm a losing player, or a really soft site where I get 20% rakeback and I'm a big winner, I'll choose the 20% rakeback every time.

Well thats not really true for other sites wsop/gg designed a super high rake high reward scheme where even good players often get close to 100% of their profit from the dumb ass rb system so caring about the rake is not unreasonable. also effective rake always matters.

Any serious player should at least care a little bit. as others have pointed out there is almost no big winners on the global version of wsop.ca pre rakeback because they have like 3x the rake.

Actually, I've logged over 250k hands since the switchover and been very unlucky. I'm running quite a bit below EV, yet still winning at a pretty good rate which will only get better once the variance starts to even itself out in the longer term.

I feel like as a winning player you should really understand the importance of rake and rakeback.

Are you serious? Do you not realize how soft the Ontario pool games are?

I can open 8 25nl reg tables on a Friday night in Ontario and encounter maybe 2-3 regs across all 8 tables. When I was in the global pool, I would be lucky to find a table with 2 fish, and I could only play 4 maximum.

I have a hard time believing you'll find cash games that are as consistently soft as stars ontario anywhere else, other than maybe on apps, which are sketchy and very prone to stealing your money.

I find them on literally every site. You just gotta look and figure out the times/days the fish come online. Also I don't know what sites your playing on, but I'm not too worried about any of the sites I use in regards to stealing my money.

Also yea, your going to find a lot of fish on Ontario. It's because most of the regs don't want to play on Ontarios sites for a variety of reasons.

Interesting note from this weeks dat poker podcast, Daniel said that GG Ontario has more accounts than all of the other sites combined metrics. Thinking of that it is crazy to think how many poker players there are in Ontario, and that Toronto still does not have a legal, legit cardroom...

lol that's not the reason at all...most of the Ontario MTT regs I know, the regs probably most incentivized to move and play elsewhere, are sticking it out for a few months to see how things develop/are absolutely printing on the Ontario sites at the moment

I think it's fairly intuitive why there seems to be such a good fish:reg ratio on the Ontario sites: relative to most of the world, the cost of living in Canada is high -> results in a higher threshold for being able to make it as a successful, full-time player (fewer full-time regulars/pros) -> sizable populace relative to other segregated markets -> lots of the 30-55 year-old male populace here grew up w/ poker as a common hobby/as part of the culture -> lots of $ in the Windsor-Montreal corridor, especially in the GTA
