PGCB Executive Director Kevin O'Toole has a 30-minute discussion slot during the September 1st executive session. However, those sessions are closed to the public -- meaning it's unknown if online poker licensing/launching (Valley Forge/partypoker) will be discussed until the Wednesday public meeting.
I think this is the meeting. I would hope they would be open for football im sure they are pushing for that to happen. fingers crossed

Here is a link to the agenda for tomorrow's (Sept 2nd) PGCB meeting.

https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/fi...a_20200902.pdf

There is no mention of poker on the agenda. PGCB Executive Director Kevin O'Toole is scheduled to speak near the beginning of Wednesday's public meeting (following the Category 4 "mini casino" public auction).

There are two sports betting licenses up for consideration (White Hat Gaming and Amelco UK).

https://www.whitehatgaming.com/
https://www.amelco.co.uk/en/

White Hat Gaming also has a speaker slot during the upcoming GeoComply "Power Lunch Summit" session on Responsible Gaming that will take place in just over a week. But most if not all of the iDEA Growth lobbying consists of sports betting and iCasino expansion in the U.S rather than online poker.

partypoker going live in Pennsylvania this week?

https://f5poker.com/poker-news/2020/...sylvania-week/ (by: Anuj Arora - Sep 1, 2020)

"But as per the agenda for tomorrow’s meeting, there is no mention of GVC Holdings or ROAR, the company in charge of operating partypoker in the US, raising doubts whether partypoker PA will go live this week.

However, it is important to note that when PokerStars went live in the state, PokerStars or parent company at the time, The Stars Group (TSG) were not included on the agenda either, so despite partypoker or ROAR not being on the agenda for tomorrow’s meeting, there are still hopes of partypoker PA soft launching its online poker platform this week..."

This is one downside to regulation. The bureaucratic process is so unbelievably slow it makes me crazy. However overall I'd say the good outweigh the bad fingers crossed for today we need competition for the players

All that has to happen is that the PGCB grants approval for launch. Like Anuj pointed out in the pokerfuse article (see post #703), PokerStars wasn't on the "agenda" for the meeting immediately prior to its launch.

However, PGCB Executive Director Kevin O'Toole specifically mentioned the imminent launch of PA online poker during the October 30th, 2019 meeting.

There's a log here within the thread of the communication leading up to PokerStars PA's launch.

Thanks for noticing that. For those interested, the mention is under the Bureau of Licensing section.

https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/fi...a_20200930.pdf (PGCB Meeting Agenda - Sep 30, 2020)

888's PA land-based hookup is with Caesars/Harrah's/WSOP.

"Interactive gaming" could refer to iCasino, iPoker, or both. Typically "interactive sports wagering" is labeled as such.

Wondering how poker social clubs and bar clubs like Chip and a chair and Pittsburgh Poker operate...

Hi 1BigOT,

The PGCB is responsible for regulating and licensing both land-based and "interactive" poker/sports betting/casino activity within the commonwealth. The PA Lottery is regulated separately.

Here is a map of the land-based casinos that fall within the PGCB's discretion.

https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/?p=180
---

Here is an article from August 28th related to crackdowns of illegal "slots," but I haven't read anything about the state's enforcement specifically targeting "illegal" or "unlicensed" poker rooms. Either way, those who are in Pennsylvania and who are familiar with these processes would have a superior perspective on this imo.

https://www.playpennsylvania.com/har...illegal-slots/

Grant funds have historically been offered and disbursed by the PGCB to spread awareness and/or enforce regulations upon the PA gray/black market (since 2010 at least, according to what pops up on Google).

However, state regulators, stakeholders, and local officials would know more about who/what/when/where... those policy initiatives impact in the present day.

Here's a more recent press release from the PGCB related to grants for law enforcement agencies. It mentions that the grants are "for the purpose of investigating violations of and enforcement of laws relating to unlawful gambling."

Here is the agenda for this Wednesday's Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board meeting.

https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/fi...a_20201118.pdf (for Nov 18, 2020)

Both 888/WSOP/Harrah's and partypoker/ROAR Digital/MGM have cleared the regulatory licensing hurdles to operate interactive gaming products in the Keystone State. However, there is still no set timeline for either company's online poker launch in that ring-fenced statewide market.
---

Martin Harris of PlayPennsylvania reported last month that the WSOP.com PA launch has been delayed until 2021.

https://www.playpennsylvania.com/wso...ed-until-2021/ (Oct 22, 2020)

Martin also reported that "...ROAR has been awaiting approval from the PGCB for its license to operate in Pennsylvania. However the regulators’ iGaming Operators Eligibility List still lists its application status as pending."

So for now, PokerStars PA remains the only licensed online poker site available in Pennsylvania.

PokerStars PA player feedback can be found in the Internet Poker forum -- linked below.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/2...rs-pa-1757060/
---

Note that partypoker/ROAR/MGM has likewise cleared the licensing process in Nevada but has yet to launch.

WSOP.com already operates in Nevada and remains the only licensed US-facing online poker site to offer "interstate" (aka cross-state/compacted) player pool "shared liquidity." However, that WSOP's branded interstate online poker service is currently restricted solely to players who are physically located within the states of Nevada and New Jersey.

Delaware online poker players can also sign up through local "racinos," but Delaware players are not allowed to participate in WSOP-branded bracelet events.

Pennsylvania casino revenue figures for the month of October 2020 have now been released.

Below is the link to view "online poker" revenue, which is solely offered by Mount Airy/PokerStars PA at this time. GGR and tax revenues derived from "online slots" continue to do the heavy lifting for the entire statewide "iGaming" market.

https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/fi...FY20202021.pdf (see bottom of Page 2)

OCTOBER 2020 ONLINE TAX REVENUE FROM MOUNT AIRY/POKERSTARS PA

Interactive/Online Slots: ~$1,580,000 in monthly tax revenue (54% of GGR)
Interactive/Online "Banking" Tables (Pit Games): ~$252,000 in monthly tax revenue (16% of GGR)
Interactive/Online "Non-Banking" Tables (Poker): ~$387,000 in monthly tax revenue (16% of GGR)

* GGR = Gross Gaming Revenue

Here is the PGCB Gaming Revenue page where readers can view other verticals/categories for Fiscal Year 2020/2021.

https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/?p=317

Note that sports betting/wagering is an entirely separate category/vertical from "iGaming."

"Online poker enthusiasts will be disappointed to know that online poker is not part of the operator’s initial igaming offerings. I'm looking at laptops for Stars in PA, and someone mentioned tablets. Coming from a Windows 10 machine, are the iPad and Android tablet apps able to set default bet sizes to 1/3 and 2/3 Pot, and can they filter tables by Pot Size, VPIP, etc...? Is there anything you miss from the Stars desktop app VS the iPad & Android tablet apps?

If the tablets use the same software as the mobile app then you won't be able to multi table more than 4 and you can't tile. When playing mtt on my phone i can't check the tournament lobby and the bet buttons do not show up.
