How about one guy in each pool working really hard to improve his game, so he can beat the other players who are just standing still?
Obviously, this would mean that some regs lost money before rake was taken into consideration, which is obviously unfair as making money at poker IS THEIR RIGHT.
Do you not think it is possible for you to play any better than you currently are? Have you given up on improving and just resigned yourself to being a low-stakes bumhunter, pulling that same raise/iso trick that's been working for the last few years on rookies who have no realistic shot?
