“If the judge agrees to the thing, it could be launched within a matter of weeks. I and our entire team have been working on this for many years,” Almira said. "

"Isaias Almira, manager of Universal Entertainment Group, said pokertribe.com will be available to players in states that have legalized online gambling, including New Jersey and Nevada, as well as to the international market. Players also will be able to use the website on some cruise ships and airline flights, he said"

Well, they said they worked on it for "many years", so I guess the design of the website was created in 1996 and wasn't touched anymore since then.

Not only is their web site bad, but I also clicked through to "universal entertainment" that is putting together the software. That entire company is just one big trademark infringement suit just waiting to happen. Calling that company "shady" is being very, very generous.

The domain was bought like 2.5 years ago. It's just a place holder with a message until approval happens, not sure why so critical of the web design. lol

The Tribe won the right by the state, however if they attempt to serve online gaming interests in NV, DE, or NJ without a gaming license they will be breaking the law. Additionally they cannot service overseas clients without approval from the State Department, and its VERY unlikely they would permit it due to existing GAT Trade Agreements which would have to be enforced. For background on this topic, review the issues surounding the existing WTO dispute between USA and Antigua.

Universal Entertainment Group = snake oil salesmen. The only thing they accomplished is step one, there is no way they will get past step 2.

They should get the Kahnawake Gaming Commission involved, to gain some instant legitimacy.

Trash website or not at least they are pushing for international and statewide compacts right away. NV gaming hasnt even broached that subject in the last two years.

Ceaser has basically taken the stance that they are no longer going to invest any more money into online gaming. I like seeing a company with some drive, optimism and a understanding of what international regulation could do for them.

More importantly i'd like to see a company that doesnt take two years to fix a glitch. This company could easily purchase better software after the ground work has been laid.

Would this include the state of Oklahoma along with the before mentioned states?

I'm not expecting them to make waves or even matter immediately. But I like it.

I'd like to know your source on this. I don't see this as being true at all. Do you have a link or something else to back up your statement?

The only thing they need is $$$ to get this going.
I mean if they can successful establish a site that is legal and open to the USA as well as ROW you are in big business and run over PokerStars within 6 months.

They are looking for a spokesperson.

When all the legal stuff clears they should be able to get enough funds tho.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I've been following the legal proceedings of this and it looks like they have a launch date for their site.

http://www.pokertribe.com/

It says a play money only site will launch on May 17 and the real money site will open on Aug 1 (both 2016). I think this is huge for the U.S. but i agree with some previous posts that the company they are working with looks shady. Hopefully this will open up doors for other Native American tribes to start their own poker sites and launch a legitimate site that can compete with Stars and 888. I'll definitely be checking the site out at launch though.

there had been several attempts the last years, and every one knows how well that worked ... i'm not saying, it can't work, but i don't see any reason to be excited. regulated states will keep them out and then we have some states, where online gambling is forbidden, or like we've seen it with DFS, will be outruled within a few weeks.

IF (well a few 'IFs') this site goes online and get's customers from out of the state, i could be very interesting obviously. from 'how do they decide to accept international players' to 'what influence could this have on a nationwide bill'.

EDIT:

well, even 2.5 yrs ago, this 90s design was hilarious ... besides that, combining "play now" with "coming soon" or a static "countdown clock" is just funny ^^

Soulja Boy - who allegedly just signed a $400 million deal - seems to have really deep pockets ^^

World Poker Fund Holdings (the new and exiting social casino project, who signed jamie gold as an ambassador), bought 49% of Universal Entertainment Group, which seems to provide the 'poker room' for the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma

source: http://calvinayre.com/2016/05/03/pok...ainment-group/

it's a bold prediction, but i'm sure WPFH will also buy ivey league, since this is the missing piece of their portfolio puzzle ^^

Pretty sure aboriginal cases are heard in the US District Court, not State Court. and are covered under a different part of the US Constitution than the Interstate Commerce Clause. So that's how they'd be allowed to offer games to other states and countries, and won't be breaking the law.

Whether or not this site'll gain traction is a whole other issue.
