I Think Patrick Antonius's interview summarises things well. Link placed earlier in the thread, here again just in case.

Was in Macau last week for a gaming show, game was only playing intermittently as several of the regulars were away working.

For some of the people asking ITT, I played in the 10-25 games at the Grand Lisboa for a week over Christmas, the games are pretty soft, there is literally no bluffing, you just need to run into some good spots and you should get paid. The reg's play tight and flat pre with hands as strong as QQ, hoping that you have some kind of AJ type hand and will commit chips on a J-rag-rag board.

dunno if this is bump worthy but there is an insane game going on at the Wynn Macau right now. was going all night and still going as of 1pm local time. 25/50k blinds (~$3k/6k). all old chinese dudes tho. the floor said it is a 'reserved table' so rando's cant sit, but its right in the middle of the poker room.

didn't see one pot raised PF. standard pot is limp, limp, limp, limp, limp, limp. flop - pot, call, call, call, call, call. turn - somebody bets a ferrari and gets two callers. etc. craziest **** i've ever seen. incredible how fast they play and how nonchalant they are about calling huge ass bets constantly.

One of the guys told me a big reason they don't let white people play is because they take the game so seriously and slow it down. These dudes like to play super fast. The only time they are putting any thought into making a call is on the river when somebody bets $500k+, and even then they just pause for like ten seconds and call. I don't know how rich these guys are but they play the game like the money is irrelevant to them.

Guess it was around HKD 50 Million (USD 6-7) on the table when I passed it. Did not look that interesting, just some rich guys played for fun.

really well thought out from start to finish.
Funny you should say that.

Do these pros make all their income by playing? I mean how much can they get paid on side for promoting?

latest news about the Macau cash game apparently, according to Rui Cao's blog Patrik Antonius has been virtually banned from the games for beeing a nit

link to Rui cao's blog post translation(not 100 percent accurate but still understandable)

haha, he just hasn't been abck for a while. The game usually goes a little quiet when the soccer season has a break and a lot of the regulars go on holiday

Beating this game for millions isn’t an accomplishment given their bankrolls of stolen loot. Like a lot of capitalistic ventures u need money to make money and im sure if many players had a net worth to withstand that bitch variance we’d take a shot at beating rich Chinese fish to given our large edge in the game.

they had pasts that gave them great reps, they ran good yes! But they are still great players!

A lot amongst us could "beat those games if" as they say from the outside looking in but we cant forget that they actually did! beat the biggest games consistently! live and online!....at least ivey did.

We also cant forget that their games were not born when ftp was established....they started much like we did, well some of them, lol.

they did what we are trying to do and they started like we did and I still cant find proof that they were in on it!

If you don't know international tax law you shouldn't comment. You are clearly not a CPA.
