People believe that they themselves are Napoleon Bonaparte. You are presuming a level of rationality and being grounded in reality that just doesn't exist as a way of functioning in the minds of millions, maybe billions. There are people utterly blind to this scamming just as there are those blind to how maths work, etc. etc. People who hear a ghost story and believe in ghosts, hear a religious story and believe in a cult leader, hear about aliens kidnapping people and believe it, hear about any manner of conspiracy theories and join in. When this standard is missing there is a strong undertow in the personality to go along with stories. See Trump and the legions who surrender to his story. The tale of MM and his legions of believers is not unlike that.

You admit he's an attention whore. Why wouldn't he record himself trying to sit down at baccarat in various casinos to show them refusing to let him play/escorting him out? So a friend of a friend (might as well say he’s a a degen of a degen) I met yesterday tells me he used the casino cheat (in baccarat) against them to win.

i was one of the more public faces of some of the various startups i worked with in the past - i'd get constant solicitation from people doing tech related news/podcasts/interviews about the opportunity to collaborate for a nominal fee to cover their expenses

it's how most of those people make their money - dollars for exposure

we could even get tv segments done - but that was through more official channels of hiring a pr firm who'd then leverage their contacts

basically everything you see covered on local news, morning tv shows, morning radio shows etc is paid content in one form or another unless it's genuine news like elections/school shootings - if they decide to cover the circus that's coming to town or a new eco friendly cafe that opened up or how one feisty entrepreneur is helping making gardening easier those are all paid for either directly or indirectly or in cases like cbs this morning is promoting something else owned by the parent company

The only reason I even checked this thread I saw MM's Soft White Underbelly interview and I do know Mark has paid over a grand for a good interview.

I know a player is too blame for putting money at risk, but feels very predatory of HCL to invite Mikki to play. Obviously the pool of players who can and are willing to play on the stream is limited and will contain a disproportionate number of sketchy people, but HCL seems to have an unrivaled pipeline of scammers, shady, sus, etc people.
