OP, gambling and prostitution have been around since the beginning of history. Anyone who thinks it is going to go away is delusional.

Poker is one form of gambling where the masses can convince themselves they control their own destiny to a certain point, so it isn't going anywhere soon.

Poker is only going to get bigger. More and more government officials are looking more favorably on poker and the money it can make. Globally, poker is growing and the US will be coming into play with web sites within the next few years more than likely. Poker in casino's is not a big money maker, but with the internet and the ability to run as many tables as you want all generating rake, its a gold mine and the government knows it. When the Zenga poker people jump on to play with real money, I have a feeling many winning players are going to get very wealthy.

Bots will destroy online poker before governments manage it. They will become unexploitable, undetectable and will outnumber real players at the tables. The medium to long term prospects of the industry are terrible. If you're making money now get in while the going is only slightly bad.
