If there is a next season, then they should make sure they film it so they can air the weeks in an order that makes it more interesting.

All they have to do is tell the players not to mention other cannons. Actually that might make it more interesting if the cannons don't have any idea of a target to beat. Maybe make the highest payout prize better as well - eg, they get to keep some of their winnings over 100k, and the rest goes into a pool for the series winner.

In a series, you want the first, second and last episodes (or "weeks" here) to be the best, with any bad ones in the middle. So maybe this will turn out almost alright by accident - at least we had a good first week, which is the most important.
