Ifa hot chick asks you for 400 dollars at the poker room, tell her, "sure, after you spend an hour with me in my hotel room."

if a guy asks you for money, tell him, " that's funny, I was about to an you the same thing. "

This has nothing at all to do with poker or poker players. If someone you don't really know is asking you for money pretty much in any situation, that person is broke and/or sketchy, pretty much 100% of the time. I mean how bottomed out do you have to be before you're asking people you don't know for money?

A: very bottomed out.

You are more likely to get paid back by a poker player than a non poker player

You are more likely to get paid back if the person you are lending the money to intends to use the money for gambling

He’s actually serious, this is an example of the delusional state people end up in when they put too much life emphasis on the game of poker

Just don't loan money to people. It's a losing business. If people want loans, they can to the bank. If the bank refuses to loan them money, there's probably a reason.

If a "pro" is asking for 400 dollars the general assumption you need to make is that person is broke. Also, pro or no pro, lending money to somebody you speak to and barely know is not a smart move.

If people who you barely know start asking you for money, it is because they hit rock-bottom a high percentage of the time.

I think it was in 2017 WSOP ME where Chino got on the TV table a bit and Norm and Lon kept going on about the millions he's won...

I just hate how so many people view Hendon as money in the bank and don't account for taxes, backers, hotel rooms, flights, coaching, non-cashes, and just the money sieve so many players become after every big cash.

I'm not proud when I look back on financial management I used when I was a poker player. There were quite a few times where a single bad session would have busted me because I was in the midst of a downswing but kept spending as if I were still tripling my buyin each night.

The Hendon mob rankings have their usefulness but at the same time don't present the full picture. Some people seem to think getting their name on there, even for one small score, gives them some legitimacy.
I know someone who is on there for tournament wins of about 10k lifetime total but who burned 11k total in last years wsop.
