Wow imagine my shock when playing a mystery bounty tournament and finding out that a large amount of the prize pool was allocated to the mystery bounty

Taken from the pokernews article at end of day 1d Given that this was the final starting flight, it was always expected to draw the most runners. Even so, the fact that the overall field hit 18,188 entrants was an impressive feat. The numbers are so impressive that the tournament directors are considering adding an extra $1,000,000 top bounty as a result.

On the structure sheets it said $300 of the buy in goes to bounty pool. They had 18k runners, bounty pool was $5.4 million.

It’s bizarre to me that the $1500 Razz event got more entries than the $1500 Limit Hold-em.

I know LHE has been slowly dying for the past two decades, but I’d think it’s still much more popular than Razz. There’s dozens of casinos across the country that still spread LHE games every day, and I’ve literally never seen a live stand-alone Razz game spread anywhere in my life.

Nothing strange about it. Literally no one likes LHE, while the draw events have a lot of play and skill. LHE is an awful game.

Razz isn't a variant of draw poker

Lots of people like limit hold-em, since it is still played every day at casinos across the country at a wide range of limits. It’s still my favorite poker game fwiw.

Obviously it’s popularity is dwarfed now by several other games. But Razz isn’t one of the them. Razz was the game no one liked even back when everyone was playing stud games. As far as I know, there is not a single Razz game consistently spread anywhere. If I’m wrong, I’d love to know it.

Razz might be the least skillful variant of poker. Only exists because someone looked at an empty square on the poker games quadrant and thought that that game should exist. He was wrong, but here we are.

If I register in advance for a WSOP event using Bravo, how do I get my seat assignment? Is this method preferable to in-person registration during an “off-peak”time?

I went to the FAQ’s on the app and answered my question. I forgot I set up a Bravo account for the 2020 WSOP but Covid cancelled me.

Back in the day Stardust would spread Razz.

For a really dormant game Circus-Circus used to spread 5 stud.

no game tilts me more than LHE

I tried to go pro in the late 90's playing LHE and left Vegas after less than 60 days with my tail between my legs

Funny looking back on it, I was playing with Matusow, Negreanu, Karina Jett (wasnt Jett back then but cant remember her maiden name) and others. The place to play back then was The Mirage...I remember being so obsessed with the game, virtually nothing could get my attention away from the table...however, I did take a break to go watch the Sands Casino get blown up to make way for The Venetian.

Treasure island closed down their poker room in the late 90's and had a 50K+ bad beat jackpot they were forced to give away so they gave $500 to the high hand every hour. I won one with quads, came in second with quads again and somehow my buddy won with a full house. We played for like 30 hours straight and the place was packed until the last $500 was gone and then it was a ghost town.

I miss those days and the excitement I had for the game

No money was taken from the main prize pool to pay the 2nd $1 mil. bounty. The pools are separate. $300 of the $1,000 entry goes to the bounty pool, and $590 of the entry goes to the main tournament pool. 18,188 entries created a bounty pool of $5,456,400 and $10,730,920 for the main tournament.

It's not like if the Mystery Millions got 50,000 entries and they just keep one $1 million bounty. How many of each bounty is dependent on number of entries with the separate bounty prize pool.

If you bust out of a tournament and then go on Bravo right away to re-enter, where do you then go to get your new seat assignment?
