double gut shot on the flop on a dry board. what's not so standard about this hand?

i just started watching these "High Stakes Poker' videos on youtube. i think the $2/4 on Prima is a tougher game.

Are they playing with their own money? Is it all staged? Do they get paid for appearing?

I ask because many of them play like they are completely clueless about NL poker.

You should go on with your $1mil+ br...wait you are bankrolled for HSP right? Since you know, they are so bad and you are so much better.

most of these guys are on there because they're famous not because they know the intricacies of the nl game. i'm sure for many of them nl is their 5th or 6th best game.

so they just want to be on tv or they think the exposure negates their negative edge?

i think most of ssnl has figured out why its a bad idea to call flop bets with bottom pair in multiway pots.

what are they thinking? "the more players in the pot, the more likely it is that i will stack someone when i turn 2 pair?" wtf... seriously.

They probably don't think they are -EV. People tend to think they are better at poker than they really are.

And people like Guy, Baxter, Safai, etc. are just playing for fun and certainly don't think they are +EV. Well maybe Baxter does.

In 4-5 weeks of grinding Gus has wiped out his entire 2008 online dept, which was as much as $1.8 million, I believe. He's no longer among the top 50 biggest losers on the site. If he wins another 900k, he's completely out of the red for 2007-2008 (From what's been monitored).

Is this even him? This isn't one of those 3-4 day heaters we're used to, this has been going on since late June, over about 55k hands. He's also never been as antagonistic in the chat box. I don't know, I'm still seeing the occasional typical Gus call, so it probably is him, I'm just not understanding what the difference is. He's won just as much as the PLO tables as he has at the big hi/lo table, so it's not solely that.

It's like he disappeared for months, then resurfaced as a completely different player. He's still craptastic HU though.

Anyway, watching him and Ziigmund go up and down the charts is about half the fun in railing.

Looking at Gus's results via Highstakesdb is a little worthless since they have only been tracking the HORSE and Omaha Hi/lo games since the beginning of July. I know right before July, for instance, that Gus won over a million in like a two day period once those 2k/4k games started up. Also Icallsowhat is down much more than people realize, since he had some huge losses in the 2k/4k games before they were datamined.

So basically it is impossible to really tell how much Gus is up and down online these last two years and the same goes for any of the players who have played HORSE and O8 continuously.

As you can tell Patrik made over two million playing O8, yet you can't find it on Highstakesdb.

Antonius LHE or NL stats?

I also have some data from 2006 on my other computer in PT, PLO and O8. When Benya was playing under magicpitch, ballsrider etc.

The guy was a maniac.

Let's see if I can recover some data.

Sort of a bummer we can't get results/news from the Big Game... reading PA's most recent blog sounds like there is some nice action in there recently. I know that it's a lot of cash and very private, but it would be nice to know what goes down in there...
