If Haseeb is truly no longer a poker player, I'm sure he won't have much trouble finding a job at some newspaper or magazine. This guy is a fantastic writer with a very unique and detail-oriented style. I like it very much, and I'm sure many others agree, as well.

I would like to take advice from those wiser than me but I am too proud.
I can relate

The guy did what he said he was going to do. 99% of the people in his situation would be quietly playing again under a new alias. Changing your life in the way that he did (at least he claims) is hard as hell.

Credit where it's due in my opinion. He doesn't deserve everyone's forgiveness, but the constant hate is just ******ed. He could donate half of his organs to a dying child and everyone would still spew venomous hate.

The real world should allow for some redemption. At the very least I say just let him be.

But like anyone will listen. Someone will just reply and say 'Hi Hasseeb!' and the stupidity will continue.

He admitted to some serious lies in the past.

Not sure anyone should be giving him credit for something that he might not be telling the truth about.

How many drug users claim they are clean when its not true?

Its just strange that he keeps telling us he is droping off the grid yet keeps coming back on the grid to tell everyone he is still off the grid.

It just smacks of someone who needs his fix of attention.

Do you mean that Fitzgerald was not a great writer?

Wait, are people joking when they call this douche a "great writer"???? You have got to be kidding me. This is some of the most trite, melodramatic drivel I've ever read.

"I'm writing this sitting in my car at a rest stop somewhere in the panhandle of Florida. I am reclining in my chair trying to get comfortable, but I can't. I have all my stuff packed into the trunk and back seat. Rain is pelting the windshield, casting speckled shadows on my hands. I'm tired but I can't sleep. I don't know what time it is. Maybe 11, maybe midnight. I haven't been able to sleep well lately. The last few days have been tough.

I wasn't sure how to write about this. I wasn't sure what kind of a story there was to tell, or who really I would be writing a story for. Ultimately I just know that I need to express what I'm feeling and what I've gone through.

I suppose everything began last year. I took a long break from the game; I was away from poker for about 9 months after I got hacked. I was focusing on my own life - on getting healthy in both mind and body, and I was keeping my distance from the world of poker. I would attempt a few times to get my head back into the game, but it just wouldn't stick. I just didn't have that same drive to keep playing the game."

LOL, try picking up an actual book sometime pokertards.

“I couldn’t forgive him or like him, but I saw that what he had done was, to him, entirely justified. It was all very careless and confused. They were careless people, Tom and Daisy—they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.”

Ooh. He's "working hard on writing".
Someone should clue him in to the fact that there's more to writing than leafing through a thesaurus.

... he does have a pretty cool name though.

To be fair, he is overly dramatic and at times does try too hard and come off like a cheap imitation of good writing at times as the fwf thread made clear, but I do think his writing is generally competent/good by the standards of internet blogging.

He has a great future in writing Danielle Steele romance novels. Available at a grocery store checkout counter near you.
