I dunno.. I'm pretty lazy, but 40 hours of poker still seems like nothing to me. That's only 2-3 decent sessions :P

why on earth would this guy charge $125/hr for mental game coaching when he spends his entire blog post talking about how he couldn't handle the mental aspect of getting flamed on an internet forum for six months and clearly has no direction in his life?

Good for him that he is able to charge this rate, but this is pretty much the last guy in the world I would go to for mental coaching.

So you think people study and go into the fields that will make them the most money, or do you think people like to do what they think they'd enjoy?

Not everyone wants to do something simply because it's a lucrative living, believe it or not.

this guy is not capable of writing one single blog post without making it some kind of poem, using leading questions etc. which always make it sound a little unreliable.

You have to admit he has a way with words. His beautiful prose reminds me of F.Scott Fitzgerald actually.

LOL.
This is a level right ? I mean it has to be.

Average hours/week of "real" jobs : 40+ hours (probably closer to 50 in the US).
2-4 weeks holiday a year (and for some this will be a luxury)
Average hours/week of poker players : 25-30 ?
2-3 months holiday/year ?

Curious where everyone gets these numbers. There are many different types of online players obviously. I know there are some fairly small stakes grinders that play all the time. What do you think the population is of online poker players is that only plays 20-30 hours of week? Just curious.

I thought it was an ok read. Nice photography. And to be fair, if everything he wrote is true, instead of hollow words, there are worse ways to redeem yourself. If every person accused of wrongdoings started vollunteer work, applying themselves in school and foccusing on selfgrowth. This world would be a better place.

maybe I should gtfo?

In a way - and perhaps it is a cliche to say, but I will say it nevertheless - I am grateful it all happened. I am grateful that I made the mistakes I did. I am grateful that I was ostracized, decried, hated. I am grateful too that people even accused me of things I didn't do. I am grateful that I left the poker world. I am grateful that I felt alone, that I questioned myself, that it all forced me to invent myself all over again. I am grateful that I couldn't rely on anyone else to figure out who I am, to learn how to live, to learn how to grow. It is all good for me. It will all make me stronger.
I've read through a few of his blog posts, and it seems like the quoted BS is the overarching theme of everything he writes, and I'm pretty sure this blog exists purely to cultivate the idea that he's this peaceful and charitable guy whose life was ruined by the evil 2+2.

"I am grateful that I was ostracized, decried, hated," LOL ok Jesus of Nazareth.

does anyone else think that people who are really into self-improvement etc are like that because they're self-obsessed and not because they're nice people?

I read about the month of free mental coaching and was astounded to later discover he was giving rather than receiving it.
Little weirdo.

It's a level? It's a level! Aaaaaaah, thank you starving writer. You have restored my faith in the ability of humanity to evaluate the written word. If this guy writes like F Scott Fitzgerald, then I write like Shakespeare. If this were play'd upon a stage now, I could condemn it as an improbable fiction.
