Very difficult for the Trolls to argue against this, and you may notice that many of them are on "vacation" from the thread

If they don't offer AT LEAST the same promotions as before, i.e RB/Black Card equivalent there there is zero chance I play on that site again, i'd imagine this would be the case for most of the old regular players. IMO they give everyone at least their 27% rakeback plus some huge promotions else people will withdraw and stay at their alternative sites.

With all the fun name calling, I missed the "FTP2 has been granted a license to resume poker operations for real money" tidbit. They haz a license? Honest question with no sarcasm, I missed it if it happened.

I come from the startup world where we announce a product 3 years before we could ever sell one. The company makes trade show appearances and gives interviews on any medium that will have us, "we're definitely there, today". I guess that has skewed my worldview on press. Do normal companies keep their grand opening a complete secret until a few weeks or days before it happens? Maybe Frog Hammer is running FTP2's campaign?

Maybe you've got this nailed 100%. I'm still not sure that it impossible for a reasonable person to have doubts. Just to be clear, you're certain? I'd be an idiot for thinking that this is still a maybe.

AA declared he was going all in for $250,000,000, but when we asked for a chip count it turned out he only had $12.

OK Where is the part where I said YOU would be a Troll for having honest doubts about this?
Hell, pal I sure have some too! You know very well the kind of posters I was referring to and likely you know their 2+2 names as well! They are not here because "some" positive evidence has finally been made known. Your caution is well founded in this FTP mess. I was referring to pointless negative trolling and leveling, and that does not seem to be your point of view. GL to us all

I hope to get my money back too. However I don't understand how so many people here have started counting their money like its in their hands already.

There are so many hurdles and things that can still go wrong that I suggest to continue preparing for the worst while hoping for the best...

Peace

No one can deny that the bomb impacts keep getting closer and closer. Keep them coming...

Tomorrow ends the 14-day period from that 23rd of march license date. Right?

Have a good weekend everyone!!

I also don't understand this "tapie is god", attitude. It's not as if he's doing this to help players out. He wants to make money. He most certainly couldn't care less about the American players. They can't even play on his site.

I like to think ftp2 will treat row players well simply because he wants their business

Anyone else not care about any update other than "ftp is back baby!"

Even if he literally only has one goal of making himself money, he will end up along the way paying back US players in the process. So even if he doesn't want to he will end up giving a lot of money back to poker players, which is obv something to be happy about.

"[Preet Bharara] write[s] to respectfully request that the Initial Pre-Trial Conference (the "Conference") in this matter, presently scheduled for Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11 :00 A.M., be adjourned until either May
7 or May 8, 2012. Upon serving the order setting the Conference to counsel for the defendants and claimants in this matter, I was informed of conflicts on April 16 and various other dates. Uponsuggesting the dates of May 7 or May 8, various counsel consented to those dates, and no counsel has indicated an objection to setting the Conference for either of those dates."

Not going to pretend I know the implications, IF ANY, of this. Diamond Flush?

RULE 16. PRETRIAL CONFERENCES; SCHEDULING; MANAGEMENT

(a) Purposes of a Pretrial Conference. In any action, the court may order the attorneys and any unrepresented parties to appear for one or more pretrial conferences for such purposes as:

(1) expediting disposition of the action;

(2) establishing early and continuing control so that the case will not be protracted because of lack of management;

(3) discouraging wasteful pretrial activities;

(4) improving the quality of the trial through more thorough preparation; and

(5) facilitating settlement.

Hope they get rid of that pic of Jesus when they re-open.

They are likely to do that along with a "few" other changes!

We discussed this a few days ago, and there appears to be little incentive for FTP to do any marketing before the actual site is up and running.

They are targeting degens, not corporate purchasing managers.

Are we supposed to get news from the AGCC tomorrow? Their deadline is supposed to be over tomorrow. Or is it 14 business day? In this context, I think that more or less 4 days is getting really important for my patience imo. GL to all.

Playing against that might actually be his entire idea here. One recurring trend with the companies he's been involved with seems to be trying to broaden their horizons. Just think about the International Poker Stadiums Tour (IPST) idea he seems to be looking to simultaneously launch. 30,000 players playing a massive event in world famous venues, the first planned to be Wembley Stadium in London. And much of the event will be played 'online' using tablets in person.

He's not dumping an inordinate amount of money into a broken company hoping to run things business as usual. FTP may have been able to print money pre-Black Friday but that's a time that's long gone. Even Stars seems increasingly hard pressed for money given their recent displays of previously uncharacteristic acts of short term avarice even at the expense of player loyalty, reputation and arguably long term profits. The current online poker model is dying and it's no secret.

It will definitely be interesting to see how he launches the site. I expect it to be in coordination with the IPST or something similarly grandiose. It's not going to be a "Hey guys we're open. Here's a deposit bonus. Come play now."
