Given past history, this is probably what you should expect. Hopefully something happens that we can be happy with. Beyond the P5's and Wicked Chops articles we have no reason to expect otherwise; these are reasons for sure, but we've had positive reports and then nothing plenty of times before.

Something positive might happen this week for sure, but just to be on the safe side I would suggest you call the hospital and reserve a bed for Friday.

Lol. A few days ago things looked darkest yet again. Surprise surprise. The savior has leaked an inkling of hope yet again without ever saying a damn word. Now all the sheep are happy and speculating yet again!!!!
Now before you flame me for pointing out the obvious, I want to get paid back as much as everyone else, but let's realize that as soon as you all get happy and speculate of how FTP reopens the news stops.
Maybe keep the heat on and show your still angry and aren't gonna stop until we get paid. I mean in reality we still haven't got a real press release in a year. This is all leaked info to shady poker sites. A real press conference or the current owners of FTP speaking in public would mean something to me.

I am not wearing a 'do not euthanize me'-bracelet witch all dutch have to wear if they wanna be reanimated according to your presidential candidate Rick Santorum. So i guess it will be over and done after this week.

If that was the case the deal would have been done ages ago lol, obviously isnt the case here especially now as stars have rush poker

what is with the trolls going on and on about rush poker and stars. FTP was by far the 2nd biggest poker room in the world before rush poker. rush was a great invention, but it certainly was not the reason FTP was a big site.

I am just wondering if FTP has stalled everybody until the statute of limitations is up for their ( criminal ) irresponsibility handeling our money.

I really hope not but IMO we''ll soon be back to "early next week" again.
03-26-2012 , 03:55 PM
The Tapie camp said in late February it would still be "several weeks" before things were buttoned up. Just because some random pocket fives' source thinks it may be done sooner it shouldn't give cause for concern if nothing is said this week.

Most investors don't like to deal with DOJ and all the complicated legal issues. If it was simply buying a profitable business, FTP would have been bought ages ago and at a much higher price IMO.

You're probably right besides one thing: dealing with the DOJ aint the only issue. The state of the FTP books, the phantom deposit issue, the large amount of debt that is owed to the company by individuals, the negative press (calling it a ponzi etc) FTP has gotten, regulator issues, legislation issues... These are the JUST the things we have heard of that are pretty non-standard in any takeover of this size.

It takes a lot of time, skill and money to wade through all of that and find out wether this is a good investment or not. And even at that point, you need to figure out how much you're paying exactly and for what.

Now I'm pretty confident that Tapie found out rather quickly wether it was looking like a good investment or a bad one since otherwise he wouldn't have acted so commited imo. The main issue probably is now finding everything that is relevant to the deal and dealing with it before you finalise it.

/Load of speculation bull**** .

The corollary to that is, just because some random pocket fives' source thinks it may be done sooner, is not evidence that it will be done any sooner.

Unless anything comes directly from the Tapie camp, or DOJ, or whatever's left of the husk over at Pocket Kings, it's no more than unfounded speculation or rumor, and that goes to both sides of the deal-or-no-deal.

That's why Tapie is the right man for the job. He sees oppurtunities, not problems. And he is right. Say this adventure cost him 400 million dollar. If everything goes well he sells it in 2 years for more than a billion if it doesn't go that well he still can catch at least 200 million if he wants to get rit of it.

According to the famous source 3 days ago:

"le deal sera conclu pour 48h max"

So the deal was supposed to be concluded in the weekend?
And this was announced in a PokerStars show?
In Evian where this news supposively broke nobody has heard about it.

I appreciate the sentiment nobody bothered to check that, this optimisme is justified.
But may be we should stop running after these sites that sell advertisements or w/e.
The "major announcement" will be all over the news. ASAP.

Possibly the source wasn't making things up, but just doesn't understand French so well. In that case it could still be true Laurent Tapie lives in Dublin 4 days a week.

According to a source close to PocketFives, Group Bernard Tapie Managing Director Laurent Tapie (pictured), who is overseeing the much-anticipated acquisition of Full Tilt Poker, has moved to Dublin, Ireland. The significance? Dublin is the site of the headquarters of Full Tilt Poker's parent company, Pocket Kings, and according to our source, Tapie is working in Dublin several days per week gearing up for a re-launch of Full Tilt.

<optimism mode>
It is possible that a source said to that person "**** will be done in 2 days max" but that said source meant 2 business days, and that the person turned it into "48 hours"
</optimism mode>
