Forget principles for a moment and remember that online poker is STILL ILLEGAL in the US. Even if FT relaunches in March Americans will technically and legally not supposed to be playing on it.

As to principles, even though the FT name makes most of us cringe if the site is good most here will forgive and forget all the mess from before, but not all of course. I personally will be in the minority of those who no longer have any faith or confidence in online poker.

no...

in fact the doj confirmed recently that it never was...

Insane that player's even think about accepting a % or freerolls for what is rightfully theirs. Are you all shills or something?

If FTP is in debt which they cannot pay, they should be considered bankrupt. Ridiculous that they can wheel and deal with what is not theirs, especially when rightful owners of the $ are forced to sit back clueless.

They confirmed that the wire act only applies to sports betting. That’s not the same as saying online poker is legal.

So are you saying that its LEGAL for an American to play on an online poker site? I must be completely out of the loop, because the last I heard it was a big no no for anyone in the US to play on gambling sites.

If you're so sure, just let us know what law makes playing online poker illegal.

In most sates it's leagal for the player to play. It may or may not be legal for the site to offer the game.

It's currently against the TOS of some sites and against the Stars/DOJ signed agreement but it's not actually (and never was) against any law. It's not even clear that UIGEA ever applied to online poker after the DOJ ruling last September ruling that the wire act didn't cover internet poker and therefore there's nothing that actually puts poker in the "illegal gambling" column. Remember those laws were targeted at financial transactions and not the actual poker in any case.

yawn, you guys don't need to respond to an off topic post by someone clueless. if he is interested in legal issues, go to the legislation forum. no need to bump this thread when this convo is totally unrelated to the topic at hand.

Black Friday UIGEA and IGBA indictments are predicated on the violation of a state law. They mention NY specifically. Not necessarily the best choice, but they have a good case considering NY State's case law on businesses engaged in offering poker.

Black Friday indictments were never based on the Wire Act. The charges still stand. Also, DOJ never made a "ruling" in September - they issued an opinion in December.

Just wondering what you guys think of this? I was watching party Poker Big game and I noticed Roland de Wolfe was wearing a full tilt shirt.

Ive been to the casino and saw the odd guy wearing it and one of the sessions some guy started mouthing off to the guy like he was a previous owner. Calling him a scum bag and stuff and referred to him as Howard numerous times...almost got kicked out of the casino.

FTP hoodies are collectors items now.

Just reading his twitter today where he says next week he'll have a blog up about Full Tilt and their problems and attractive Patrik Antonius would look as a woman.

Sounds like it will be rather mean saying he'll need to wear a football helmet for protection.

I always wear my ko shirt in live games, I had a good time with FTP before bf, and I'm happy to wear it:$)

Did much people here have like their whole net worth on full tilt and like very little money in the bank or was it very rare? Like say having $60000 total but had left like $50000 on full tilt or something simliar to that.

Someone mentioned here he had a friend who had 100k on full tilt and had pretty much no money outside of it such as the bank and on life tilt. Was there anyone or know anyone that was like this? Well it doesn't have to be 100k but like 30k and left like 25k there?
02-20-2012 , 02:10 AM
Man this really sucks.
I want to write a manifesto post how FTP ruined many things for me but I know others have it worst.
But I mean I'm very surprised none of the rich pros have stepped up to repay some money back or do anything.
I wish chip Reese was alive today. I bet he would've done something
F u FTP pros what a ***** shame

ya the fact that we got robbed was surprising, but the fact that these FTP pros have turned out to be bums and their level of selfishness and carelessness since BF has been the most surprising. Its just a shame were all gonna get stiffed and these guys are going to be walking around still millionaires and no criminal punishment.
