Be thankful you have a family who loves you and supports you.

I think the best thing for you to do is stay away from this thread and try to forget about it.

I know whenever I feel down I like to go outside. The light, sun makes me feel positive. The mind is a powerful thing, just try to think about all the good things in your life.

I don't know how much you have stuck ... I'm guessing 50-60k. I have 5 figures myself.. but i say if getting robbed of your FTP money is the worst thing to ever happen to you, well I consider you lucky. Try to put things in perspective.

Hang in there dude, some very well informed people are still believing in this deal. I know it's tough, but there is maybe a light at the end of this bloody tunnel.

You can't control if FTP pays out, (and I still think they will) or if a Stars deal gets done. But it isn't worth having your life ruined over, your situation sucks but there are so many people so much worse off.

Just stop reading this thread for a few days, if they announce a deal it will be all over the news, you'll hear about it. Hope you feel better.

-What games will you be playing? MTTs, SNGs or cash => huge difference
-What BRM will you be using? Agressive BRM => Higher probability of busto but also higher probability of big wins
-What is your EV in the games you are playing? Shouldn't need an explanation

If you really think the answers to these 3 questions can be random and it wont impact the "probability of turning x$ into x$", ....
Fill in the blank so I don't get warned for it .
The only flaw in my calculation is the difference in skills between pokerplayers and the rake you pay.
Let's say for arguments sake that it happened on a roulette table and this roulette table has no green numbers (house doesn't have any advantage).
Would you agree that if I started with 2 cents and i walked away with 25k then in retrospect you could say that chances of this are 1 out of 1.25 million?
Now i transfer the points you named to a roulette situation:

-What games will you be playing? MTTs, SNGs or cash => huge difference

It doesn't matter if I played black or red or I put my money on one number, the outcome 1 out of 1.25 million stays the same.

-What BRM will you be using? Agressive BRM => Higher probability of busto but also higher probability of big wins

It doesn't matter if I doubled up every time or I bet 2 cents at the time and played for eternity the outcome 1 out of 1.25 million stays the same

-What is your EV in the games you are playing? Shouldn't need an explanation

The EV for every bet is already part of the outcome of 1 out of 1.25 million.

+1. I was also hit hard by this. Use it as an opportunity to better yourself and shoulder through. Also make sure to let your family know you're grateful for keeping you afloat during some trying times. Stay positive, we're all in this together.

I wonder if Howard, Ray, and Jesus read this thread. Better yet I wonder if any if them post here. My guess is huskermonkey is really one of them trying to derail the thread when people start talking about organizing. I also think brain dead is erick lingren
Just because he is also brain dead.

You're lucky. On black friday I was told I had a month to get out of my parent's house. I had to take the couple grand I had and move on. You're very lucky your parents still support you.

I’m not trying to be insensitive to anyone’s situation, but it’s been well over a year since BF. If you haven’t figured out what to do with your life since then, it’s your own fault. If you can’t play poker for a living anymore, then it’s time to get your **** together. Stop looking for excuses.

This is such a dick thing to say. If your life has been greatly hurt by this fiasco, please disregard that guys comments. He has no idea that each persons situation is different.

@KingKongGrinder, please just walk away. This is a sensitive subject for many.

So looking at the situation now with stars walking away from deal I think this is actually better for poker overall.

1. We need ft software back on marked. This can only happen if ft gets liquidated and auctioned off.

2. We need stars to fight DOJ in court and win

Neither can happen with the stars deal.

1) FTP software will be back on the market just as Strikeforce is still marketed after being bought out by the UFC.

2) If they thought that was realistically possible they wouldn't even be negotiating a ~$1B settlement.

You think telling people to move on with their lives is a dick thing to say? That's silly dude.
07-15-2012 , 12:46 PM
Totally agree. Its been over a year. I never amounted to much anything in my life and it was all poker. Made the move to another country after 7 months of waiting/hoping in the usa.

I guess im lucky I dont have a wife/family. But I miss my sister, cousins and friends back home. I didnt want to move but I had no choice.

You got to do what you got to do. That or work at Mc D's.....boy do I miss Mc D's.....

^^^

Most of the people here has had their life hurt by this nightmare of a situation in some way (otherwise we wouldn't be here sweating this thread everyday).

However, sitting around waiting for GBT/Stars to come bail us out isn't a healthy way of coping with the depression/anger/murderous rage that this last year and 3 months has brought. Being proactive and taking control of your life is going to make you feel a lot better than sitting around and cursing the jackasses who did this to us.
07-15-2012 , 12:53 PM
Jezz, this thread has gone to the pooper. I do agree with that guy who said its been a year now, time to move on. You would think you being drunk off your ass in your parents basement and living with them would paint the picture you needed to see to get your life together. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to ya, feel lucky.
