I think Daniel is just kind of a weird dude. I can't pinpoint it exactly but he just always comes off as strange. Probably why he sucks with girls. Sure he's a nice guy and all but just overall he's very eccentric.

From like 2005 to 2008/9 he was by far my favorite player. Then I learned the game and how people act and found him so fake and insincere. And I also thought he was intelligent, but the way he plays chess proves that is not the case. A 5 year old who has played for 6 months would beat him at chess.

Daniel, if you are reading this. I will teach my 4.5 year old daughter chess starting on her 5th birthday and assuming you don't take lessons or actively try to improve, she will beat you come next July.

Humans have an innate, subconscious ability to sense when someone is not comfortable in their own skin, because such people give off a conflicting set of verbal and non-verbal clues about the inner fight with themselves. I believe Negreanu is one of those people. You can also tell by how he grasp's for anything that he believes might finally give him inner peace - first it was Christianity, then it was the exact opposite with Choice Center.

I wouldn't be so sure, he plays a very different game now to what he did in the early days of WPT etc. when he first came to forelight. The fact he's making videos now making fun of the crap he used to say on his old poker training site suggests to me he's not afraid to leave his ego at the door when it comes to poker, and always look for ways to continuously improve, reinvent himself. I watched him getting back into online poker big time a few years back and all his good live results came after that, so he definitely knows how to get it back. Unlike Hellmuth who still expects everyone to play poker like its 1989 and respect his 3 bets "The 4th bet is always aces" will be his poker epitaph.

I actually thought he restrained himself quite a bit in this one mainly by listening music instead of disturbing everyone at the table as usual with his "joking", i found it quite refreshing, he may be on to somrthing here.

The hate has gone way over the top in the last few posts IMO.

He still has an edge in most line ups, has far greater experience and in game mental control and discipline than most of his opponents, plus the bankroll to get into any game he wants to and to rebuy if needed, both of which are big advantages.

But his edge has no doubt shrunk over time and my feeling is that he is trying to mistakenly compensate for this by believing that mixing 12 healthy foods in a blender and using a load of not scientifically proven self help stuff is going to elevate his game.

The fact that he simply cannot stop referring to himself as "we" in my opinion shows that he has lost the plot a bit.

Still a great player compared to most and still achieved a lot of success in life, both of which should not be ignored or ever forgotten.
