Of all the cringe-inducing and obnoxious things Daniel does, the "we" thing does not even register on the list.

Why focus on that when he listens to dollar store rap, mocks everyone with any accent or "foreign sounding" name he sees, constantly shouts "yeah-yuh!!" and other things to make everyone around him cringe and recoil, babies his purse dogs while regurgitating vegan/new age platitudes from the back of a women's magazine, constantly throws tantrums and backbites everyone around him while pushing his fake "nice guy" routine, and all the rest? You look past all that and worry about him saying "we", which is a relatively normal thing to do in a vlog?

Well I don't feel the sort of bitter hatred of DNegs that comes through in your post.

He is just a guy with his own personality like everyone else has one. So he is a vegan and pushes it a little too much on Twitter and he likes cutesy little dogs, so what? Big deal.

Everyone has some character flaws, no-one is perfect, and he is a professional poker player so one would expect him as well as most other pro players to have a few more character faults than the average member of the population as it isn't exactly the most virtuous of professions.

Fwiw I think one can take away quite a lot of good things and good advice from his overall body of vlogs and other videos he's made over the years, but I do stand by my view that his recent over use of "we" is strange and that it may be part of him getting too carried away with his poker fame causing him to be less grounded than he once was.

He is saying "we" because "we"-the viewers are with him. He is talking as though we are right beside him, and saying okay today we are going to the gym, etc. There are lots of things to needle DNegs over, but his use of the word "we" while doing VLogs probably isn't the best needle choice.

Yeah, if anything saying "we" is the most natural thing to say there. The guy does a lot of odd/annoying things but that's not one.

But of course that's the point DNegs will address and focus on--along with "don't lay down"--while ignoring all legitimate criticism. Self defense of the ego working overtime. It's amusing to see. And yeah, we pretty much all do it, though Daniel's lack of self awareness makes it particularly blatant.

Classic David Brent character type. It's entertaining and even kind of endearing, even though you want to cringe and look away.

Yes you did but it is my very accurate psychoanalysis of why he uses the words "we" and "us" that Danny is angrily responding to in his vlog.

Anyway, the only thing more annoying than Danny using the words "we" and "us" is when he disrespects us by talking to us while lying on his back on his sofa in the morning. If he wants our respect he should at least communicate with us with a posture that conveys to us that he values our attention.

I hope Danny stops vlogging so that we can finally stop watching him.

DNEGs vlogs have been excellent and I'm sorry to see them end. I wonder how much tilt affected his results in the last month? I'd definitely be tilting too if all that stuff happened to me during June-July. I take a week off when i run bad but he doesn't have that luxury.

See it must be very hard for him to take any criticism to heart when you pull dumb petty stuff like the "we" or lying on a sofa, ON HIS DAMN OWN VLOG that's supposed to show his day to day. It really looks like you are petty haters clinging to some random stuff.

Now when he did an official PODCAST with an interviewer on his bed, that the interviewer had prepared for, scheduled, and was obviously glad he got Dnegs and it meant a lot to him, that's really different, disrespectful behaviour - that's what Doug was pointing out, and what Daniel should be chastised for.

To clarify I've been doing poker podcasts interviews, and including preparation, scheduling etc. one structured with okay background research takes some 10-20 hours to make, prepare and schedule.
In fact I had to stop as it was just not worth the time even though I loved doing them but the opportunity cost was too big with climbing the poker ladder being my main priority.

And I just imagine going through all the hoops, finally "Scoring" Daniel and when I finally get him he not only starts pulling the more rake is better thing as a smaller producer I don't really want to confront him on because it'd be harder to get him and other guests on. But he doesn't even stand up in a thing I spent so much time on...and again it's hard to say anything looking down his nose for the same reasons.


Vlogs are different altogether, they are supposed to take you on a journey of a person day to day, including the small stuff, you know like you are there with the person, his buddy in the place of the camera. That's why the breakfasts, gyms, "we" dogs, bed, rants etc. made him the most subscribed poker channel after pokerstars, and are the very essence of Vlogging - showing you actual day-to-day

Apparently, Danny his been reading this thread. He completely stopped filming himself lying down and he has toned down the "we" and "us" talk considerably. He actually refers to himself as "I" multiple times. Good job responding to our feedback, Danny!

Daniel, I know you're definitely not reading this thread, but I'm just thinking out loud here. Imagine how great it would feel to step down from PokerStars. I can only imagine how it must feel to have to defend a company that scammed players for millions of dollars, after all the criticisms you lobbed at UB and FTP apologists. It's a big positive of NVG that posters tell it as it is, the good and the bad, whereas his vlog YouTube commenters are more weighted towards being sycophants.

His demeanour, focus and calmness on the car drive to the one drop was very impressive, his mental strength and stability being at the very top level, far ahead of most other pros, and a big factor in his career success.
