Yes, he gets lots of attention during WSOP series, but apart from that isolated mad burst of activity he doesn't actually appear to play much poker these days, apart from the odd high profile losing heads up challenge. This thread reflects that, pretty much tumbleweed in between WSOP, sudden attention over his latest poor series, then all quiet again. So being to a large degree a retired poker player, it isn't surprising he constantly loses to guys that put much more time at their game than him. So he lives off what he used to be, rather than what he is now.

right which is fine- anyone making a living in poker would trade places with him and take the millions a year in endorsements. There's nothing wrong with being rich but not a top level poker player anymore. He's crushing life. It's the entitlement that gets annoying. But probably still worth it for the Bonomo roast.

I couldnt find a single negative comment on that video on youtube, althought I didnt scroll forever.

It's their right, but we also know that you could show videos of puppies being saved from slipping into a tree chipper and you still wouldnt have 100% positive comments

I pretty much watch the vlog every day to get an insight as to what it's like for a high-roller to play the WSOP and it definitely is good poker content (lifestyle, not strat). Props to him for bankrolling the vlog when there's not much original poker programming these days apart from streams.

The drunken party video is pretty brutal but there are some insights like oh, I guess Arieh traded in his wife for a younger model. It's still funny that he looks at coffee like Billy Butcher taking Compund-V in the Boys.

Also, it's wild that with all the people he employs, his home is pretty much disorganized chaos which can't be great for his mindset. He certainly could hire someone to organize all of their ****, especially the bedroom which is bordering on hoarder status. It's also interesting that when he broke up with his girlfriend mid-WSOP a few years back, part of the reason he explained was that she sat around the house all day.

he's nowhere close to being a hoarder though, could be wrong haven't seen many this year (did tune into the party since everyone here talking about it) and it's mostly passive listening as it plays in the background

speaking of the party - it's cringey but i think a lot of it is put on - some of the people were even like "wait you said we were going to do a bit on x but now you're saying y"

given that context that we're getting brief snippets of what was likely several hours which was then professionally edited together the next day, i don't think it's fair to assume that he was genuinely being a drunken cringe fest the entire time - i view it more like marle's attempts at comedy, not funny, misses the mark and kind of cringey seeing it being put together with the belief that there's an audience that'll love it

i think it's more staged bits, much like his attempts at blackface that he thinks is funny and is in fact so badly executed that people think this is just regular interaction for him and don't realize this is a show for the camera

never met daniel, but i imagine he's probably a chill guy to hang out with when there's no camera on him, like if you went on a 3 day rafting trip and he weren't poker famous but a regular rando on your trip he'd probably be a pretty laid back and chill guy to have in the group

I've posted in this thread multiple times defending Daniel and his play. But this recent drunk vlog really rubbed me the wrong way and I'm not sure how much I'll root for him going forward. Is he still a good poker ambassador? Yes. He interacts with fans etc.. but drunk Daniel is just too cringe and borderline abusive. It's weird tho because guys like Justin bonomo are still 10x worse in my book. Daniel at least doesn't hide anything. Everything is out there for the world to see.

He gets abusive when drunk because he gets abused on the poker tables when he plays bad. All that negativity comes out and he is trying to pick ”weak” targets on the party which he can bully with his status.

The comment about Arieh’s gf being Dnegs wife was really weird if you think about it. Propably made Amanda also insecure about how she looks and that’s why she did all the plastic surgery. No wonder when your man is publicly doing stuff like that. And being drunk is not an excuse. And no, it’s not a bad joke, it’s just insecurity.

He knew he was lucky to be there hob-nobbing with some of the biggest names in the poker community
I bet after the party he told his friends, "if that was just some no name at a bar, things would have gone VERY differently"

At Daniel's age there is really no excuse for not pulling back on the drinks when your buzz is really kicking in that environment or any environment for that matter
I stopped having next-day drinking regrets by my early to mid 30's and even then those last few I was like, "wow am I stupid"
If you get a hangover after age 35, it should be a super special occasion that got out of hand,
not just another corporate party where it is obvious you're the only one drinking hard.
