Watched TCH Live for a couple of minutes, and I'll just say that hopefully these guys are all healthy, because there's a pretty good chance of transmission with all the face touching I saw in that short time.

Not according to the latest from the CDC, if you choose to believe anything they say.
05-21-2020 , 07:34 PM
Which is...?

Edit: Never mind, I found it. I assume this is what you mean:

Yeah, it doesn't surprise me that it's not the main way that it's spread. I bet it's far lower than through the air. But of course, that's a general statement, and not taking into account people sitting together for hours and sharing items and then constantly touching their faces. Gotta think the risk moves up a fair bit at the poker table.

That said, I'm not suggesting there's necessarily going to be huge outbreaks from poker. I don't really know. If very few sick people are coming in to start with (some of course won't know they have it), and with the measures in place, I'd hope the spread wouldn't be huge. But if you're going to play, at least try not to be like one or two guys I saw whose hands spent more time at their face than anywhere else.

Luckily I haven't had to wear a mask yet because I haven't gone anywhere in 2 months, groceries delivered. I am sure it takes some getting used to and you probably feel like you need to adjust it constantly from things I have read.
05-21-2020 , 07:52 PM
Absolutely. I know it would cause an issue for me. The few times I do go out, if I don't have a chance to wash my hands after shopping, I'm constantly stopping myself from a nose scratch here or glasses adjustment there; I'm sure it would be worse with a mask (mask wearing isn't as much of a thing here yet). But that's why I won't be at a poker table any time soon. That aside, though, I'm not talking about adjustments, but guys with their hand to their forehead or face the entire time they're playing, except when they reach down to grab the chips or cards others have been touching. Anyway, enough said by me on this.

Macau Visitors in April down 97% to just 11,000. Almost all casinos were re-opened by early March.

Typically 11,000 people can be seen walking into Venetian in an hour or so. 11k for the whole month is mind blowing.

Maybe all those folks waiting in line to get in the AZ casino should pop over to Macau. Plenty of open seats.

Yea, that video is cool.
Picture 4 of the Blackjack seems way more degen than playing poker.

There's something sad abt these pictures and the people in them

Bunch of degenerates. Games are probably so good.

Free Parking! No mention of poker.

"Live entertainment, bars, spas, buffets and valet parking will not be included in the immediate reopening plans.

The company did note it will be suspending fees for paid self-parking in Las Vegas."

They won't last long even with additional PPP which was only intended to be a short term band-aid. Of course considering economic ramifications of a prolonged shutdown is anathema to those who can't get past their singular focus. It's simply a bridge too far...

It's hard to say who is more annoying - the people who constantly suggest lockdown naysayers don't care about people dying, or others who constantly suggest those who want lockdowns to continue are all scared of their own shadows and don't consider economic ramifications. I guess their binary world is easier for them to process, but it's not real.

Tennis court near my house has now been opened pickleball and tennis ... the sign says for "singles only" (wtf) OK, then if four of us are not married, we all play two per side?). The goes on to outline more rules, including "please write your name on your own balls, and only handle your own balls". Um, I can do that, I guess.

Not much of a game if you can't touch the other guy's balls.

Okay, I'll ask .... "Do you do anything special before a doubles match to bring your side good luck ?"

Are you seriously equating someone who claims people who want to go back to work don't care if people die with someone who claims people who want to stay in lockdown are not considering the economic ramifications?

It's not at all hard for me to say which is more annoying.

I’m not sure if all of the above is a joke, but I assume you know what singles tennis is and that they mean not to touch tennis balls from other games going on or left by other people.

Yeah. The morons that want to keep killing people with this lockdown are DEFINITELY more annoying.

Wait - a member of one of the groups thinks the other is more annoying? Shocking!

The point is that both groups are taking ridiculous stances; which one is more annoying really isn't that important. But I should have known that point would be lost on anyone that needs to hear it. So, carry on I guess.

Caesars Entertainment just confirmed on twitter:
"Live poker will be available with the following social distancing guidelines"

guidelines don't say much about poker, just the 4 max rule from the state.

I'll remind you that you are the one that compared two positions and which you found more annoying. I simply disagreed and now the larger point was lost on me? Nothing was lost on me. I just don't agree with your "comparison" nor your basic premise. Now you double down and say that my position is a ridiculous stance.

...and what was my ridiculous stance again, oh yeah, telling another poster that he was wasting his breath asking the, how did you frame it, "other group" to consider the economic ramifications of an extended lockdown when a poster from the "other group" had just posted that people who want to come out of the lockdown are sickos, want people to die, and are just doing it to save money on social programs....but yeah, I'm the one with the ridiculous stance which you somehow equate on an annoying level to the "other group" poster.

Look, we agree to disagree and can leave it at that. I find your posts articulate and very even handed but simply disagreed with this one. No more, no less. As you say, carry on I guess.
