There was a rumor on a poker news site today that the case was dismissed. I checked the status on Pacer tonight and it shows this:
2:08-cv-01581-RCJ-RJJ Gowen v. Tiltware LLC, et al.,
Robert C. Jones, presiding
Robert J. Johnston, referral
Date filed: 11/14/2008
Date of last filing: 04/07/2009
Pending Statuses

There Are No Pending Status Records For This Case.
No statuses have been terminated for this case.
The last document filed in the case is the, "Defendants' Reply In Support Of Motion For Protective Order Staying Discovery Pending Resolution Of Defendants' Motion To Dismiss Plantiff's First Amended Complaint" dated April 7, and it refers to a scheduled hearing on the dismissal motion for April 27.

The electronic records should be updated every day, but I suppose something could have happened today that isn't in there yet.

Clonie Gowen Awaiting Legal Response from Full Tilt
Quote:
Update: The original article on this story incorrectly reported that Gowen’s attempt at suing Full Tilt was dismissed. This was originally mis-reported by a journalist at Aintluck.com. We apologize for the oversight in reporting. I would like to thank www.Pokerati.com for bringing this to our attention.

They still got it wrong in their correction too:
"What is actually going on, is we are awaiting the legal response from the defendant (Full Tilt and Tiltware) which will be published on the 27th of April."
On the 27th there is a hearing on the Defendants' motion to dismiss. They've already published several responses to the complaint, including that motion and another motion to postpone discovery until after that hearing.

The most recent case document, filed on 4/7 by Tiltware, is here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/ynnzjz...are-040609.pdf

Instead of scraping old news off 2+2 and getting confused by it (the incorrect report links to a document I published on 3/10, many motions ago), I'd suggest that a reporter should pay a couple dollars to get it from the source in the Pacer system. I do and I'm just an interested bystander.

This week Gowen filed a demand for a jury trial.

Hearing is apparently still Monday 4/27 on the FT motion to dismiss.

After ton of articles online, bits and pieces of info here and there, and the law in general, imo she has absolutely no case and in the end this will destroy her standing in the poker world. Which I assume whether she wins or loses it would do anyway.

FYI-bit of interesting info showed up in another forum about the original poster of this thread. (I had googled the case and that forum thread was one of many that popped up).

If you scroll down through this thread http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poke...30663-100.html

Someone, a new poster named, "Justthis1Post" added this info regarding twoplustwo forum:

"The following TwoPlusTwo accounts are all linked to the same I.P address.
TheCyclone
ProblemSolver
RaisingNakedPosted link to Justia.
So yeah, if you read some of the post it might give you a clue to who started the 2p2 thread. "

Thought you'd all like to have that bit of information for this thread.

Thanks for this. It's good to see that the lawyers for the FTP crew have got around to raising their game.

Jennifer Tilly helpfully suggested that FT use Thaw, Titmus, Beer, King and King, a suggestion which Phil Ivey found mildly surprising.

I wonder to what account your user name would be linked to. You seem to be uniquely interested in Annie Duke and Full Tilt.
