This is definitely thread-worthy. It's one of the biggest angle shooters of all time getting owned on a play named after him.

Is the all in button something used by players to go all in or a button used by the dealer to indicate that a player has already declared all in?

Wouldn't a better rule just be to tell dealers not to give players the all in button at all? Make it so it's not an actionable chip for a player but just a piece of table equipment that indicates a status, sort of like the button does?

Yea I don't really understand why dealers seem to have repeatedly given the button to him.

But obviously the rule didn't exist at the time Matt Savage made the ruling. So its a good thing it was a well run tournament.

I think what happened is the people that made the rules for the tournaments didn't anticipate a situation where someone would use the allin button to angleshoot so there wasn't a rule in place. Then the TD saw someone trying to pull an obvious angle and called him on it.

Presumably they will instruct dealers now not to give players the chip since there really isn't a non-angle reason to want it. I just think that its funny that he apparently kept doing this just waiting for it to work.

"Hey, can I see that button? Yeah, the all-in one. I just want to see it, though. I like to have something to play with and didn't think to bring a card protector, or just pull a coin out of my pocket, or use any of the other various items that I could fiddle with. I want that, it's just perfect.

But I'm not all in."

And especially not any of the hundreds of chips sitting right here in front of me. I want THAT ONE. :P

at commerce, when a player goes allin, the dealer gives the player a button that says allin. i think it makes sense. but ive seen players sometimes subtly notion to the dealer that hes allin without saying it or using a hand motion. kind of like the player and dealer have some sort of telepathic communication or something. so i kind of got worried that a player might abuse that and tell the floor that he never went allin and doesnt know why the dealer gave him the button. his tweets might have something to do with that i dont know.

Would much rather hear layne flack talk about the 2 mil he owes FTP than anything else he is even remotely capable of talking about.

I don't get the angle at all. If I was at a casino, and I asked the dealer, "Hey, can I see that button?" they would look at me weird and say, "....no."
