Would this explain why the DOJ has taken longer than the two weeks they thought it would? Little hold ups with this settlement? Consequently, once this is finalized, we could expect a near immediate announcement on remissions?
Thanks.

More likely, for me, it is just that the selection process takes time. In this case it is a very big and very valuable contract and there are many bottlenecks in the contract awards process that could be the cause for this "delay". Also, I choose to hold out some hope that the "delay" could also be because the Claims Administrator has already been selected and is already working on preparing the case so that the next announcement contains more information than just the fact the "abc claims company" has been awarded the contract, which would provide us little relief or useful information.
I'm going to agree with Ford here and say that the two things are not connected at all. It is my opinion that the cardroom case is just a nuisance at this point. They have been trying to sue FTP and owners etc for years, in multiple jurisdictions. How their claims after all this time are not labeled frivolous is beyond comprehension.
There is a LOT of money in the pot here. Neither the Kentucky claim or the Cardroom claim should make any difference to the remission process.
I choose to believe, based on what I know, that the administrator was chosen and is already attempting to put ducks in a row. Clearly, the community would not be happy to just know that ABC Adminstrator was selected, without all the conditions for how the payment process will work being set. My information is that the news becoming public is imminent, but I was told that more than a week ago. Apparently imminent means different things to different people.
As to the Ferguson settlement - his claim against the assets wsa never really a serious one imo. The claim was filed in a timely manner, within the time frame allotted for anyone to file one. If he had proceded to trial and been successful (lol) he would have needed that claim in place. The same was true for Bitar, Lederer and Furst. Doesn't change the remission.
