GBT are a bunch of *******s. They wanted to make players go through a bunch of hoops before they could withdraw. Good riddance.
04-24-2012 , 12:31 PM
WOW.

So DOJ basically blew up the Tapie deal. If I was Tapie I would've done the same. He needs security and no way after 7 months of negotiating would I agree to that.

No clue why DOJ would demand that outright and seriously risk player's interests at the last second UNLESS Pokerstars already came in and said we can buy FTP, pay everyone back, and give you more money on top of that to settle out the lawsuit.

As long as they dont merge I am fine or if they merge just merge with ftp platform even better

gotta be joking

What's confusing is that the DOJ basicly killed the deal with GBT and right after Pokerstars comes in to save the day?
04-24-2012 , 12:32 PM
in before facebook buys FTP.
04-24-2012 , 12:32 PM
Why not Tease Tuesday? Once its official we can use something different. Pretty epic if true though.

jesus, these quadjacks guys are so clueless. they keep comparing the $80mm GBT was going to pay and the $750mm PS paid, but they arent comparable. GBT was going to pay $80mm+$150 for outstanding balances. PS is paying $750 for everything, including balances and a settlement with the DOJ. Anurag Dik**** paid $300mm alone for their settlement and PS had made way way more than they did. The DOJ originally wanted $2B [i believe] and that didnt include buying FT, all things considered, this is a huge positive for stars when you consider the charges they have against them

Wow.
I emailed the iGaming Post and they are hoping to get some news from PS today or Tomorrow

I just hope Pokerstars keeps the same rake and play money setup like Full tilt had unlike when they revised the play money site on their site. Before on Stars they had higher play money stakes than 100/200

WAT?

I read it as the DOJ wanted all players to be paid back in full both US and ROW. And GBT was going to make people play on the sight and over time get their money back, basically from rake.

And apparently PS said **** it we don't mind taking a big risk to get FTP and just went for it.

wtf is this chainsaw song
04-24-2012 , 12:33 PM
Wow, just wow...

In actual fact, this is absolutly perfect - I love stars and loved FTP. A merge would be a win - so long as you can play with either software.

Anyway... I kinda feel that some cliffs should be posted in the OP??

In b4 pokerstars doesn`t buy ftp and everyone hates pokerstars because they didn`t.

But tbh, if pokerstars didn`t buy it, wouldn`t they already have released a statement? It`s kinda bad raising hopes and then not do it so IMO this looks really good.

Theory:

GBT and Stars planned this all along, the delays were actually stalling so Stars could save $XX million per month in profits to be able to do the deal. They finally have the money, so it's getting done.

Stars has plenty of money.

DOJ to Stars. Listen, you know that 200million fine your going to give us, lets scratch that and you can enter the US market if you buy fulltilt. We are happy with the 550 million we confiscated from fulltilt throughout the years and whatever else we confiscated from you. Let's make it happen we are the doj.

Also how is Mike Heaven under NDA? I guess he has some business with PS?

Honestly don't know his back story, outside of him being a super mod.

Finally some good news
