Good point. Under Texas Penal Code 9.42 the smart play is to hand over the money and then shoot the perp(s) in the back of the head as they flee.

Forgive me if I missed the post that said he/she was armed. In California there is a higher wage for armed security guards, not sure in other states. It’s only a few dollars more for armed in California. MOST SG’s are supposed to observe and report, NOT get involved like a LE Officer. Jackson was probably seen as a threat because of his/her uniform.

Not only are you wrong and purposefully ignorant to not investigate, you’re also quite insulting with your arrogant misguided assumptions. I posted credible links to actual crime statistics to back up my position and also pointed out the links provided by the distorted posters include accidental deaths and drownings in their statistics when we are only talking about crime here.

But your willfully blind allegiance to your political position is noted and will surely serve you well when social credits are commonplace.

Ok, because I got curious, I tried finding a way to read the Bloomberg article posted before without paying for the very expensive subscription. I couldn't, but I found the charts.

The thesis of the article seems to be that when you take into account all the causes of external death, NYC is safer than all other places. Regardless, in terms of violent crime NYC is the safest out the 6 largest cities, its homicide rate is significantly smaller than the metro area average and Detroit is the most dangerous city in America (no chart for this, but I did come across a link saying that).

Charts:

Say what ? Seriously, what are you talking about ? I just went back through the thread, never saw any links you posted itt to anything. Either your post was deleted before I got to it, or it exists in some set of alternate reality or I just plain missed your "credible, actual crime statistics", missive. What number is it?.
I call
Fwiw, I only referred to a "fair and balanced" news outlet., from where does the accusation of a "willfully blind political allegiance " derive?

Violent crime is violent crime, NO matter what city in the USA are from, period. I don’t care about statistics, when someone is shot with a gun, they STILL need our smartest people to save them.

Lionel Hutz makes a good point about gun robberies in parking lots of mgmnh or Foxwoods or other east coast casinos or for another example historically in elevators in Vegas, are always buried stories by the powers and industries in action and quite common thank you for sharing that.

Very insightful email reply thank you for taking the challenge on second dare.

Sounds like the security owner has no interest of course in setting up a GoFundMe that could garner media attention on sketchy cardroom security procedures. He just wants to put his guff talk out in the news and honor his employee for deserving the medal of honor so the next one will do the same for him and die in another violent wild west shootout. Can't argue with that workplace culture

He sounds unsecure and unregulated and toxically masculine in his email threats back. Very sketchy security company it seems. I wonder how they are treating employees or relying on employees who work hard and do their part for the team when they shouldn't have to. Like perhaps the many men of color who have always done their part Brown and Black for our society. But hey lets not listen and read and donald trump race discussion with our invididual idiotic spew. I should become more british or shaun deeb like and just call people out on their BS but hey it fills the thread up and its hard to find good points.

Very interesting about Allied Universal being the third largest private employer and how few actual private jobs exist in this country and how such work is going to inevitably fall into the hands of the disempowered

Read that one on the internet, wow man you are tough!
I used to talk like that too and then I realized a lot about my insecurities and how i talk and don't actively listen to others or learn. It took years but now I listen when I need to learn and don't spew away dumb **** to get attention on myself.
You can also throw the money on the ground and run back then shoot them while they pick it up. Either way that evil isn't good for your head and unless you need to be trained as a killer you should just grow up and enjoy life. I gave away my guns when i caught myself making threats about how i would use them when being robbed or road raged against. I've decided to just grow as a connected, learning man. Guess which version of myself also gets respect from women.
My honest advice as I too spew away on a poker forum talking to only a few people who are listening, looking for my own processing needs. Maybe I am being too racial in my analysis for example, but i believe the last security guard shot in texas was also black

Conflating petty crimes with violent crime is disingenuous and misleading and you know it. Thats also why you said it, to misinform.

Houston has a democrat mayor and 11/16 City Council seats are democrat. What is your next example of a southern or conservative city or state with more crime, more poverty and less education?

Let's not forget a lot of Democrat cities have policies in place where the law is more lenient meaning a lot of crimes don't get reported.

I'd probably consider myself an independent who leans left... but anyone trying to argue the the most crime isn't in Democrat run cities is kind of kidding themselves.

I wonder how common is that description around the country, though.

Nearest where I live, several of the current and former casinos are/were in such locations. Not all, obviously – Jackson Rancheria, Thunder Valley and Cache Creek are all resorts situated out in the middle of nowhere. The new Sky River Casino is the first occupant in what will eventually be an industrial park that largely serves as a boundary between the suburban sprawl of Elk Grove and the rural area directly south.

But when it comes to the city-locked properties, well... do a Google image or Google Maps search for "Lucky Derby Sacramento," "Phoenix casino Sacramento" or "Casino Royale Sacramento" and you'll get an idea of where these places were. Stones Gambling Hall, best known as the birth of Crotch Theory Optimal play, is in a nicer area than its competitors but ultimately sits in a shopping center surrounded by fast food, nail salons and liquor stores. Parkwest Lotus (as the name implies) is right in the middle of Little Saigon.

Of all the exisiting rooms, Capitol Casino has probably received the most notoriety when it comes to crime. If you've been there, or been around it, you'd know why. The local NBC affiliate did a piece about it within the last year. This came in the wake of a hold-up and shooting in which the security guard did not fare as well as Officer Jackson.

No Sacramento-area room aggressively puts out a positive public image of its card room as well as Capitol does. We play their video spots at Sacramento River Cats games, and they make the place look like a yuppie hot spot. I can only assume these efforts are specifically to offset the fact that the physical plant sits in the city's perineum.

Anyway, I don't want to start another pissing contest of which city's crime stats rank where, just that card room being in seedy areas is not unique to Texas.

I think that these criminals did not get into the room directly due to the security pretty much disproves your claim of lack of security.

Security is not the only deterrent to robbery. TX rooms might do lots of things wrong. But in this case on this day with this guard, security was not one of them.
