Very true, it takes away some of the luster.

ESPN seems to think the only thing people want to watch is the final table and the few days leading up to the final table. Day 1 and 2 are where you find all of the interesting characters and crazy situations. This is why the coverage is so boring the last few years. Wish they would go back to the more documentary approach that the old production company used. And it would be nice to see coverage of events other than the main event.

apparently we shouldn't talk about these things because according to another poster:

So we should just leave this thread until day 6.

The exchange rate this year makes all US tournaments much more expensive than last year.

Agree. Seeing guys getting it all in pre with QQ in level 1 then walking away saying 'what was I supposed to do?' always amused me.

If ESPN is not showing day 1s then they should let the amature/aspiring streamers/bloggers do some live reporting, or espn should do IT & stream live.
They are missing out on some quality T.V & advertising. By using twich & youtube it could be marketed without much outlay, the returns could be good.

That's not how poker works. He has the 9c in his hand and is blocking the straight flush so he has the stone cold nuts.

agree with this. the first couple days are when all the familiar faces are in and people will be engaged by that. also you can get the ground up stories of people who go deep instead of just jumping into them having a big stack on day 4 or whatever it is

It's almost comical that anyone would get it all in on the turn with one pair 20 minutes into a $10k tournament they probably traveled days to get to, and when they're still ultra deep.
