Anyway, I'm not super-savvy when it comes to the ins and outs of politics, but is it possible that Reid will be making a big push to get poker attached to this bill in order to avoid the possibility of stalling out at the 11th hour like in 2010?
If he can frame this as something that is good for the people he's trying to garnish support from (campaign donations will flow by passing) then it's likely it can get passed and if he can do exactly what was done with the first UIGEA then I think he will. For those of you that don't know, the first UIGEA was snuck onto the Safe Port Act and silently slid right through into law.
Hopefully this happens with our bill.
It would make very much sense that those discussions would happen behind closed doors, as well.
To me this is starting to feel like a very real possibility and instead of being open about it they're closing down and making changes in private to avoid any anti-lobbying once the nature of modifications are discovered.
Basically, the problem with our issue is every time it's brought up there are tons of organizations and corporations that don't want this being brought up and promptly make statements against it and anybody who relies on those groups or friends of those groups for some type of funding will crumble.
If they can make it very quiet and get the bill passed by focusing on the issues that people WILL vote for, then it's a definite possibility; just have to avoid the crumbling and shooting down of the bill.
