Absolutely. It isn't every penny you need for the rest of your life, but it absolutely sets you up for smooth sailing financially for life.

Yes? I'd keep working as I do.

Oh sorry you're still grinding in this sinking ship called the poker economy. Oops.

the 5$/1m spingos are not available anymore, was stars losing too much money from it or was it just a temporary promotion?

Pokerfuse almost certainly don't know how many of those $5 spin n goes were run. I would say the probability is that enough ran to make 3 jackpot games likely.

For what you're suggesting to be true, and using the figure of 200 000 games/ day and 10 million games total (as provided in the article) there would have had to have been over 8k $5 spins every hour, every day they ran. 139 games started every minute of every single day for 50 days. More than 2 games started every second.

And??? You make it sound like that's extreme, but I wouldn't be shocked if they actually did run that often.

I would 100% think 139 games per min during this promotion was more than possible. Especially if you consider the average player would play between 1-4 per time. + grinders hitting 20+ every 8 mins

Let's say 10 million did run. That's 10 million x $5 dollars x 3 players. $150 million dollars in buy ins. At 7% rake, stars would make 10.5 million dollars. Why would they end this promotion if it was that profitable?

What's so hard to understand?
It was a promotion with a starting date and end date
Profitable or not

how likely is it that stars changed the jackpot frequency late in the promotion to "ensure" that a few of these went off?

would have been an absolute disaster if somehow these ran for 2 months/close to 10m games and stars ran well in the short run not awarding the millball at all

think about a company that budgets millions and millions for advertising and bonuses...... to run this promo and not award the big prize would have been epicaly bad press of the kind they just couldnt afford.

so did they change the odds late in the promotion? ....and not feel obligated to tell anyone because they were paying out higher than they advertised in order to avert potential disaster?

and to anyone who thinks stars gives a single **** about awarding a $1,000,000 prize (out of prize pool funds not stars funds first of all), please do some research on what stars rakes a year, that will end your concern

Very unlikely. They extended the promo into January and I could believe they possibly factored the lack of a top-tier winner into that decision.
