Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has been presented with the problem of 'Barbie Kardashian' (Gabriel Gentile), a violent male offender housed in the Limerick women's prison, and has admitted on camera (bearing in mind what happened to Nicola Sturgeon, former First Minister of Scotland) that violent male offenders should not be housed in women's prisons. He said that he would be prepared to change the law to prevent this if necessary.
Incidentally, he's lying. He says he only heard about the 'Barbie Kardashian' case in last weekend's papers, but it has been an extremely well publicised case for some years and he was first officially informed of it in 2020. He's just running scared now because of what happened to Nicola Sturgeon.
