Yeah, let them burn.

If fast food restaurants didn't exist, I wouldn't have ended up the living embodiment of Shrek.

There was a Hardee's (Carl's Jr) right next to my high school and I bought more Monster Burgers and curly fries on my drive back home every day than I care to admit back in the late 90s. I carried that habit with me after high school but replaced them with McDonald's breakfast sandwiches and double cheeseburgers.

My rock bottom was some morning in maybe 2018 or 2019 and the manager working the McDonald's drive thru on 66th and North Avegave me my two Sausage Egg and Cheese McGriddles and said, "See you tomorrow!"

I have not been to a fast food restaurant since that day. I went keto and bottomed out at 220 or so, but looked like a dying cancer patient. Forever cursed to be big, but no longer fluffy.

Ron DeSantis’ ‘war on woke’

bridges can only be illuminated in red, white and blue this summer

“Thanks to the leadership of GovRonDeSantis,
Florida continues to be the freest state in the nation,” Perdue wrote on X.

The order bars any bridges from carrying rainbow colors for Pride Month

That's just good sense.

If you let the alphabet mafia advertise on bridges, you have to let other fringe groups do it, too.

The best part is someone on the Desantis team was tweeting about how pro freedom it was….to only have certain government approved bridge light colors allowed lol.

yes freedom is when the use of public property is decided by the political minority, not the majority

I don't think it'll be a heart attack or cancer, because the higher you go they want people to belive their still with us so it'll probably be a sudden retirement. I'll take side action and give it a range of 75 days from today if I was a bettin man.

my mother lives in florida in one of these heavily policed HOA developments, where she had to get permission at a monthly meeting to put an 8inch wide flower bed around the skirt of her house just to protect it from the inattentive lawn care workers who were hitting the side of the house with the weedwhacker.

when i drive through the development i see about 3-4 "dont tread on me" flags.. nothing says dont tread on me like having to go through rigorous HOA procedures to make sure it's ok to fly your don't tread on me flag.

florida freedom is a special breed of "freedon".

Freedom is the freedom to buy into a neighborhood that can set its own rules of conduct and get people to follow them.

Accountability for your flags also means accountability for the rusted piles of **** scattered on lawns.

Some HOAs are run by tyrants, but many are doing exactly what they were intended to. My neighbor built the ugliest fence in the history of mankind. My lawn is full of weeds so I'm not one to talk, but if an HOA existed, maybe both of us would be compelled to behave ourselves.

my comment isn't about HOA's in general. although i do have a buddy that will rant forever on how he doesn't think there is a constitutional backing for them if you are buying a property in fee simple absolute.

it's more about the idea that people dont mind a little boot if it keeps the minorities away. but will still rant about freedumbs. pretty sure those guys quote ben franklin while filling out their little HOA form in order to be allowed to put a lawn gnome along their little sidewalk.

In HOAs you signed a contract limiting the use of the property you were going to buy. You have a freedom to self-restrain your freedom with signed commitment to others, voluntarily.

Nothing to do with other people telling you what to do with your property or your life against your will.
