Its more than two years though, the social/cultural conditions that can put Truss into power will persist beyond two years.

Its a big sign of a powerful over arching ****edeness that is going to manifest itself in many malign ways even after she is ousted.

That's true. Hard to see how any damage caused by Truss could be remedied in less time that it took to **** things up.

Its more what is the state of the UK if Truss can become leader of it, the state of it must = really really bad.

She is just as much a symptom as she is the disease.

Sunak's attack on the "woke" windmill of right wing fantasies might be his last desperate attempt to claw back Truss's lead before he withdraws.

Totally agree. The 'sensible' wing of Wallace and Tugendhat backing Truss as competent surely finished of any last vestige of hope

He needs a miracle now. All that looks left is waiting on the back benches or bending the knee .

Sunak obviously a **** to work with and be around as he seems to have close to zero good will and support from colleagues.

Bit harsh. Not his fault that the members prefer the ERG's puppet, or that so-called centre-right candidates are prepared to trade their principles for a cabinet post.

He's a three-quarter-billionaire who spends half his time in a luxury condo in California on a Green Card, and is married to a billionaire's daughter who was non-dom till recently found out, so he's not exactly the sort of person the party is likely to find altogether credible as Labour's opponent, what with one thing and another.

Investors are really a problem. The houses either side of mine are currently owned by investors, and are perfect FTB properties. The government should really be taxing the **** out of investors to free up the masses of housing stock

As far as buying goes we were looking for nearly 2 years. Ended up thinking outside the box and found an area we felt was undervalued, and bought a house in January.

Turns out we were right.

The irony in this post goes unnoticed?

Most UK restaurants, pubs to go bankrupt

UK restaurants have always been a terrible investment with a ROI of close to -100%.

UK pubs have been a terrible investment for the last 15 years or so (for several reasons).

Even party members may now be wary of the man who said the quiet part out loud:-- 'I took money from deprived urban areas and gave it to Tunbridge Wells! And did I mention I'm nearly a billionaire and married to a billionaire's recently non-dom daughter and I've got a Green Card and basically don't give one?' So it'll be Truss by the looks, and she does have her positive qualities (she's at least prepared to say what a woman is, which Labour's front bench are not, and Postmodern Queer Theory originated by paedophiles is not a popular pitch, so God knows why Labour have hitched their star to that bizarre activist wagon), but it remains to be seen if those positive qualities outweigh the wonky and negative ones.

I'm going to hazard a guess that no, they don't.

Especially seeing as her non-comprehension of how democracies work vs fascism may lead us into a very dark place.

Seems pretty clear that her and her far right wing allies are very much enamoured with the China and Hungary political/social models and intend to get as close to emulation as possible.

If truss wins then what's the line on the ratio of references to KS's position on gender rights divided by number of PMQ sessions

I assume no-one would go for < 1
