Apparently 'an historian' is the British way, go figure.

'A historian' definitely feels wrong to me though.

What was asked for was a post of me answering the question on whether the Holocaust existed, yes?

Trolly said he'd donate $20 to see the post of me answering that question and I provided that post, right?

Nowhere did he say he wanted to see a post of me answering it unequivocally, even if that was something that they asked for previously.

And the thing is: is that I would say "istorian' in fast speech. It is pronounced that way.

It would be "an istorian a priest and a rabbi walk into a bar.."

"a istorian" is easier to say. like the syllables are formed closer with the mouth and tongue. try it. just flows easier.

so "an historian" would be said when trying to enunciate fully. in conversational english and where context is known, I think most people just automatically say "a istorian".

No. This convo was restarted by Trolly explicitly asking for an unambiguous answer. He didn’t abandon that stipulation in the few hours between that post and him saying show me the post for a donation. That’s a ridiculous attempt at weaseling. His intent didn’t change.

I.E. you can allow the same amount of doubt that the holocaust happened as you have doubt over whether some part of your body is making contact with the earth in some way, just as long as you say 'I unequivocally believe the holocaust happened. I effectively have no doubt.' I'm going to raise my bid to £30.

But I also don't unequivocally believe it. That would be insane.

Again, I don't doubt George Washington was a real person but I don't unequivocally believe that either. But if that's good enough for Wazz then hopefully he donates.

Now I'll say whatever you guys want if you'll make donations to organizations I want. I'll tell you the sky is purple if you'll give $20 to rescue some cats.

I’ll accept this and I guess wazz would too. You’re just being a ridiculous pedant about what unequivocal means in this context.

You would? I don't think it is pronounced that way in this country other than by those who drop all their Hs, i.e. there's a class component to it. I guess if you would say 'istorian' then fine go ahead and put the an in there but in written speech it looks tremendously awful.

Not sure if there's a public ledger that can verify this, if not you'll just have to take it on trust:

My grandfather grew up in Lodz. He had quite a few brothers and sisters. His entire family was orthodox. He was the only one of them to escape Auschwitz and went to what was then Palestine, where he had two daughters, the first, my mother, in 1948. He lost his religion, I don't know exactly when. He wrote his diaries sometime in I believe the 80s. My mother translated them all into English. I've read them, once, years after I was given them. Not an easy read, and I've largely wiped it from my memory, because my own mental health is far too frail to take on something that big.

..... so joke's on you guys, because that £30 is getting spent on me, at least indirectly.

You should see the Holocaust museum in DC if you get the chance. It’s grim but deeply moving.

While I suppose it can be a thing that somebody in VERBAL speech drop the H and pronounce it "istorian", that is not a word with a silent H and therefore, I feel like writing "an historian" is incorrect, though saying it in a conversation may be okay.

I would consider it a success never to step foot in your hellhole of a country ever again in my life

No. "Seems real" is not a satisfactory unambiguous definitive answer when you're being asked if The Holocaust happened, which I commented on in my original answer.
I'll try again. Lucky did the Holocaust happen?
I only need a yes or no answer on this. It's quite disturbing you consistently stonewall when it comes to this very simple plain question.
