And I think you also can also appreciate the difference from when the media decides to advance a story and when they report on it initially and let it lie fallow.
The bolded is true in a vacuum. It is hardly an argument for worshiping the Daily Mail, and no proof at all that I am gaslighting you or anyone else about anything. You are very mistaken if you think that I believe that your preferred media sources tell more truth than mine, and that I pretend otherwise to advance some sort of political agenda.

I think where a disconnect may genuinely lie between you and I is you don't think media has as much power and influence as I do. You think stories will live and die on some intrinsic ability to generate interest (or outside force other than the media), and you don't think media has as much active control over making a story as I do.
The media of course has power to shape stories, but you are correct that I do not believe that most every media consumer is as undiscerning as you seem to think they are.

Address your posts? All you have been doing is repeating the phrase "billionaire garbage."

I don't read that FT article as any sort of admission that the FT is participating in a psy-op. Of course the FT slants in the direction of things that arguably interest or benefit the wealthy. That's pretty clear from the title of the publication. And that's why no one should rely solely on the FT. Other reliable news sources have different editorial perspectives.

What you have to realise about Kelhus, is that his raison d'etre is demonstrating how the mainstream media shape the political discourse. He literally cares nothing for the substance of the stories - he just wants to show that they are biased or wrong.

How did this turn into another “Why luckbox obviously doesn’t know anything about anything” thread?

It seems Arboury was the only one the McMicheals suspected was robbing the place. Not any of the others who came and went.
I wonder what was different about the other people from Arbury...

When are we going to have a general knowledge bet?
I'd do an IQ test too because I'm pretty sure 130ish is just fine vs you, but general knowledge I'd lay odds even. How can we make it happen?

Does that offer extend to me? I'll take an IQ test vs you, and bet 2k even. I'm not actually too sure so I'm not going to lay odds. Can we get this done in a controlled fashion?

Edit: I'm an alchie, and you can choose whether I'm drunk or sober for the test.

Since Luckbox is not biting, I'll extend that offer to anyone ITT.
05-16-2020 , 01:23 AM
Even odds, fair IQ test, we both escrow 2k. Let me know if interested.

Friendly bet guys, 2k, come on.

Can't keep it open forever, so let's say 24 hours from the stamp of this post. Come and get your money!

My offer was to the former Republican who (apparently because I think the MSM is garbage) said I knew nothing.
But I'm certainly not going to bet 2k on an IQ test vs a logician/math guy/engineer type--especially after I admit that I'm only going to score in the 130s. So I'll have to pass d2_e4.

Wait, there are actually people in here defending the 2 murderers? I knew the state of this subforum was bad, but jesus christ.

Damn, Luckbox. You passed the first question.

I'm sure you have a higher IQ than me.

(But then, who doesn't?)

Dude, you believe that a guy who lived to be 900 years old built a big boat or something. A stale loaf of bread has a higher IQ than you, if IQ is what IQ tests measure.

And, yeah, it's "than I do". lol

1. The "guy" was Noah.

2. The "big boat or something" that he built is known as the Ark.

3. A stale loaf of bread only has a higher IQ than me if it is unleavened bread.

4. I appreciate you correcting my grammar. As a former President once famously asked, "Is our kids learning?"

Wasn't it Noah? Have you even read the bible?

And it's still "than I do". You don't learn quick, do ya?

For our next trick - it's "your correcting my grammar". The possessive precedes the gerund.

Meh.
I appreciate you correcting my grammer
I appreciate you for correcting my grammer.
?? I appreciate your correcting my grammer
I appreciate your correction of my grammer.

Your construction sounds weird to me but what lagtight said is fine. "You" is the direct object and "correcting my correct" is a participial phrase adjunct with the "for" being optional.

I've done a few and they say I'm in the low 120's.

And I'm dumb as a stump. I'm not really sure what IQ is supposed to prove.

Wasn't it a fast, cheap way to figure out which young men would be able to serve in the military ? Mentally that is.

Yes, it was Noah. Early onset senility kicking in.

Yes, I have read the Bible.

But you wouldn't know that by some of my posts. (E.g. ADAM building the Ark.)

Yeah, it sounds pretty barbarous, even if technically correct. In my defense, my construction was what is called a "joke".

I assume "grammer" was your little joke. If not, I suggest you pass on the IQ tests.

Not supposed to prove anything outside this thread. Luckbox offered another poster an IQ test, and I saw the bullseye on his head and thought it was easy money.

I'd like to observe that. I suspect his IQ is fairly high as is yours.
No way you could a. pull it off or b. get paid if you won though.
