Try again later? Uninstall, then reinstall? Those would be my first two things to try.

They accept US players. I'd try credit/debit cards first and see if any of yours work. If not I'd call them up about a 'WSEX Money Transfer', which is probably basically western union.

I, and many others, have offered specific criticisms.
Like quite a few around here, I used to play on there and was very complimentary of everything they were trying to do and the WSEX_GM's appearances on these forums.

But many of the same criticisms of WSEX today are close to exactly the same as they were 2 or 3 years ago and they have been extremely slow to do anything about it.
So don't say that I don't play there. I used to.
And don't say I don't offer anything specific. They have been told specific things in these threads over and over again.

I got the e-mail about the changes they have coming up. Glad to hear it and hope it works out for them. They've pretty much lost my poker business since I'm a super high-volume player at Stars now and I actually make close to the same amount of rakeback on about a zillion more tables. But I wish them well and, as always, will continue to pull for them.

I will probably be depositing in the near future on WSEX though because I received a deposit bonus for sports-betting that I may take advantage of. So they still actually have me as a customer even though I don't play poker there any more.

This part of the promotional e-mail caught my eye:



1. They say this as if this is a new thing and that perhaps there was another site with a similar model that dropped out. I don't know but that's kind of how it reads. I remember one of the prima skins (rakebackpoker.com or something) that paid you everyday but I have no idea what happened with them.

2. I also wonder about the statement in general. Seems slightly disingenuous in a way since so many people get rakeback at so many different sites and often-times it is paid to them directly from the site. And then there are other sites where I can sign up as a prop. Sure, I have to go through some other hoops or whatever to get that. But it's still a case of me being on some other site and they are paying me to play there...so it seems a bit incorrect to say that WSEX is the only site that pays its players.
I understand why they wouldn't why to say, "We're the only site that pays you to play just by showing up and without having to sign-up through somebody else" but the phrase they use of "only site that pays you to play" strikes me as disingenuous.

Minor bug I just noticed today: when two players are all in in a tourney last hand before a break, the break notice pops up BEFORE the river is dealt and you don't actually see the river card. Kind of annoying.

Five days after the above post........

Here is the email I received today when I asked where in the hell is my EXPRESS check (nine days later).

"A tracking number for your package is not available as yet as your request was re-done because of a processor error. We are awaiting updates from our processors. We thank you for your patience in this matter. As we receive our tracking numbers it will be emailed to your immediately."

It is so sad the way WSEX jerks us around....
If they didn't 'have' the poker room I would have dumped them a long time ago...

In the promotional email I received yesterday there is a line that says:

NOTHING about being paid in a timely manner like all of the other sports books!!!

Gold - 60%: Weekly contributed rake between $400 and less than $700
Platinum - 75%: Weekly contributed rake between $700 and less than $1000
Diamond - 90%: Weekly contributed rake of $1000 or more"

They dropped rakeback? On another note, what is going on with this payment processor? 4 weeks now waiting for my check, now they tell me they are STILL waiting to hear an update. My check was returned to them apparently a week or so ago, i was told it would come early this week, now they don't know. Awesome.

oh no, if the rake is drop to 65%, that's bad. Being a long long time player there, but that might do it for me, that's the end. Hardly any games or players, and you drop the rake again.

Rakeback to 65% was pretty quiet change there, eh? Never mentioned that in any of the popups saying UPDATE COMING! NEW SITE! Kinda left out that part.....

65% is pretty much what you can get back at many other sites. Seems like MTTs don't count for rakeback anymore, either. This is bad.

I have to say the new software looks good, though. The pay tracker near the table is a good thing.

on a site note, player base is on a all time low at this hours.

I understand everyone's position, but to be fair, they are adding $7500 weekly tournaments and a monthly $10000 tournament. This will certainly increase traffic, but not so much at the 10/20+ levels, so I don't know how I feel about the additional 10% cut- although when those games run they will probably be much softer. However, it doesn't make sense to me to have a big monthly tournament that is only $2500 bigger than their weekly. I think it would make better sense to have $5k weekly tournaments and a $20k monthly, which would cost them the same, but I would increase the qualifying rakeback for the monthly if they did bump it to $20k to reward the higher volume players.

Edit: On second thought, perhaps I am wrong and $5k weekly wouldn't be enough incentive, but $10k weekly tournaments and no monthly might be the best way to distribute that $40k.

Here's a story as to how waiting to get 1000 players makes sense...

I was working for a radio station that was floudering in the ratings. Then it was sold to new ownership with a big bankroll.......

The new owner DROPS all of the commercials until they were rated NUMBER ONE!!!
Then he starts adding a few minutes each hour!!!

So if anything the poker room should have gone back to 100% rakeback for a couple of months to try and jump start the new look!!!
NOT cutback to 65%!!!!


The one change I noted was it is NOT WPEX any longer..
They are using the brand name of WSEX in their logo and on the tables..
That probably should have been the way to go from the start since "back then" WSEX had a SOLID GOLD reputation!!!
Of course, it's tarnished now because they can't pay people in a timely manner.

It looks like the 65% is retroactive to your play from Monday thru Tues. am. While this isn't a huge deal, it should be corrected.

I'm playing at the PLO8$100, the "bet pot" button is hidden behind the bet slider.

I love how WSEX makes all these changes only to add to the already huge list of bugs they never fix.

This really irks me, what a very shady thing for wsex to do imo. Cut the rake in a sneak attack and not tell anyone, this after Jeremy comes here for advice, then he disappears, then rake is cut without any notice. Very sleazy imo. These are the guys everyone is supposed to look up to as models of integrity in the poker world? I used to like the site, now I'm just disgusted.
