But since they are on the same network wouldn't they know if I made a new account despite me closing this account?

You're allowed to have more than one account on the network, just not on the same site.

Oh ok awesome, I won't mention anything to them then. Thank you for the responses.

Also on their site it says you have to be over 18 to play. Does that mean that at 18, I can't play and have to wait till I'm 19 or no?
12-04-2011 , 11:34 PM
On that, I'd check with them.

In general what is better? Right now I have rakeback at Carbon but may look to get that switched after my 60 day inactive period is up. Or should I join another skin? In general which is better, rakeback or a VIP deal. Can anyone give me a heads up? Anyone done anything similar?

I'd like to play small stakes and small sngs or mtts. Any thoughts on which is the best to play on?

pick any skin on Merge (Lock, RPM, Hero, Carbon, BCP) etc
12-06-2011 , 12:13 AM
+1 to Merge, every other site is a joke atm imo

I like 5dimes and possibly America's Cardroom. I don't like Merge because they pay out so slow. With 5dimes you can cash out within a day and bet sports on the same roll. America's Cardroom you get good rakeback. Action is slow but if you can play multiple limits then it's decent.

Everleaf and Bodog are out. Their policies are horrible, especially Bodog.

Pretty much I cannot believe these poker rooms have done this to Americans after what the gov't did to us.

ACR's rakeback is nice, and even though I don't know about their payouts personally I do know that True Poker (same network) reportedly has decent (like 1-2 week) payouts. But their traffic is just so small compared to Merge.

If you're worried about Merge payouts and aren't cashing out 5 figures constantly, you can trade them in the trades thread and either take a small hit on vig but in return get a near instant cashout.

Is Merge just one website? Not sure what a skin is?

Merge is the network, just google it. The skins are individually owned and operated companies that lease the software. So whether you sign up and download carbon poker, lock poker, hero poker, black chip poker, RPM poker, etc you still play on the same network as everyone else on the Merge Network.

To see what skins are part of the network, just google "merge network partners"

I have what might be a dumb question. When you are playing on the merge network or cake network, in tourneys and cash are you played the people on the specific site only or the whole network?
12-06-2011 , 06:21 AM
Whole network - that's what makes it a network.

I want to try ACR. Any suggestions on getting rakeback? Appreciate it.

What's this I hear about Everleaf putting some cap on winnings? Is that just for high stakes players? Does it affect micro - mid stakes grinders?

Also, about Cake. I've heard people are reporting as much as a month or two for cashouts to go through. Is that standard, or just a few people experiencing that long?

Rakeback is 27%. You can sign up through one of the many affiliates to take advantage of their added bonuses and promotions. Otherwise, the ACR Rep can add it for you. Either send him a PM, or email him at the address found at the bottom of THIS POST in the "Official Americas Cardroom Help Desk" thread.

If you win about $1000 USD in a given week, you're banned from the tables for a week. I don't think it includes tourney winnings, just cash tables.

It only affects micro tables if you can grind a grand in a week

Would anyone in their right mind play for a site that "banned" winning players? If you're a winning or losing player, the goal remains the same: try to win. This concept is a fail of epic proportions. Furthermore, a poker site makes money regardless of who is winning or losing. Their only goal should be to see that games are running often. Banning players does not help them achieve that goal.

+1000000000 ^^^

I think them having a winnings cap benefits a lot of people who play on Everleaf as a second site and people who play a moderate number of hours a week. Now the games are going to have the most players banned on Friday and Saturday when the most recreational players are playing. I'll be perfectly happy on weeks where I win $1000 even though I can't play anymore.

Alright so turns out that after closing my account on Carbon I can't make a new account on RPM. Since they are both on the same network, you can only have one account total, not one per skin. ****ing sucks.

Can anyone recommend the next best thing after Merge, seeing as how I'm ****ed?

(For those of you that don't know, I closed an account I made with fake info that I made a couple months ago when I was under 18. Then I tried opening up an account on RPM but apparently that won't work since they are on the same network. )

I'm an American player by the way.

You can have 1 account per skin even across the same network. Didn't we already tell you this a few times?
