I don't understand why we can't organise ourselves in exactly the same way as the French did. It took them about a week to get the rake lowered. There is no reason why the members of 2+2 shouldn't be able to do exactly the same. We are the ones with the power we just need to get organised.

I was pretty suprised how quickly stars caved in to the pressure, but they did.

If you increase RB percentages, it makes sense that you will entice more people to grind 24 tables nittily in order to receive RB+awards and care less about winning.

The flipside is, if you removed rake/rakeback, do you think you'd have as many break even grinders playing 24 tables nonstop (the way we have now)?
What's the difference between 1% rake at the micros and 5% rake with 80% rakeback?

this isn't a christmas cracker joke.

Awesome avatars!

Thanks for doing this.

Rake is ridiculously high! Paid over 4k in rake this month so far. What a rip off!

I totally agree that the small increment effect is really what gets you. I would never pay a subscription fee of $5000/month to play poker or for anything! That's more than a mortgage payment for a million dollar house. That's insane.

Yet, because it is in small increments, I pay this every month. WTF is wrong with me.

I'll support this, hope we really get somewhere. I also pay thousands of $ rake every month just to play this game.

Yeah I've basically quit playing online altogether. Rake live is very reasonable. It's more money per hand than online- but the players are drunk. Playing 200nl with drunk people who can't beat 2nl is +EV even with a higher rake. Until stars can deliver me the fish it doesn't make sense anymore.

Sigh.

So I guess the RB pros would be really happy if the sites increased the rake to 20% - they'd get 4x the RB!!!

I live in France and pay an outrageous amount of rake /100 h. I've been talking about that with other players forever.
I was just expressing doubts regarding the possibility of organizing globally.

Saying it's a tough fight is not defending their stance on the subject.

To make a point, everyone could move to WPEX for a week.

The 8 players that are normally on there would cream their pants........

Just before their servers crashed, obviously.

I completely agree with op. And I have thought of solutions. There could be a player site, started by players and run by players, and no rake. Money should come from advertising and donations. Is it possible? I think so if the site got enough credibility and enough players.
Another naive dream of mine would be that Google went in to poker and made it free and simple like all their other products. Why not? The pokerworld is so corrupt and many players would go over to google because there products are of the highest quality and they are a well renouned company with a high credibility.

This is already in the works right now: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/28...munity-938389/

The thread ended up getting closed by 2+2 but the project is obviously continuing.

In france its not really the rake..stars simple ship the tax to the players instead to lower the rake.

Why should they reduce the rake as long as people play ?

Its not in the interest from the industry, there interest is to increase the profit as much as possible.

Instead to reduce the rake they also can go back to better bonusoffers to attract fish.

The rake itself was the same last years, problem is that it is harder to beat the rake
