Seriously though the rake for the turbo fifty50s is still to high and for the love of god make the BIs a semi round number. Also NLO8 fifty50s would be amazing.

So what are all you don regs gonna do now?
Don't know about all the others, but I'll be broke. DONs are the only form of poker I can beat

I like DoNs, but if this means rake will be lower in 9m and 6m I'm fine with the change.

No, I'm going to try to beat the 50-50s. I haven't played one yet, hopefully I can learn to beat them.

If players compare Fifty50 rake on PokerStars to the industry standard for similar Sit & Go tournaments, they will find that the comparison isn’t close; the PokerStars’ rake is much lower.
True. Now you just need to lower than rake on the other sngs. Something is out of whack when the rake is $2.40 on a $50 50/50 compared to $5 on a $55 turbo sng.

It actually makes a ton of sense to have lower rake on DoNs and 50/50s. Because edges and variance are smaller, they're effectively lower stakes. Because they take less time, they require less resources from the site. This is same logic behind having lower rake for turbos.

Steve if the only option is going to be western union with players covering the fees in and out then you should take a serious look at cutting the cost of the rake (or something).

The only metric that should matter is a true winning player's ROI. I'm not saying that every donk n go player is entitled to maintain their 10% ROI, but the way things have gone w/ the standard 50/30/20 sngs something really needs to happen.

Yeah.. I'm not saying they shouldn't lower the rake. I was just disagreeing with the argument that DD was making.

If change has to be done then it has to be done. But back to lower rake... um... I LOVE THE IDEA, maybe change the rake from 104 to 103 or even 102?? hehe. Also, why is there only one 104 50/50 registering at a time???

Boycott the PokerStars "Fifty50" tournaments until the turbo rake is lowered to the same as turbo DON

Announcing this with only a weeks notice and 1&1/2 months into the year is absolute BS! I can see why PS is getting rid of the DON's but thats just not the right way of doing it.

They have given no consideration to the regs playing these. I had put in alot of time and effort at the end of last year preparing to reach SNE playin DON's this year and now wtf do they expect me and others in my situation to do? Waste a month adjusting to these new F50's only to find out that they might not be beatable with the current rake?

And i am aware that there has been speculation ever since the Chinese collusion ring that this will happen but i thought PS would be giving at least a months notice of this and time for people like myself to prepare.

Unless i receive some sort of VPP compensation for this to make up for the lost time i will incur because of it, i will most likely be moving my 180k in rake elsewhere.

Really? Poker sites should use a "true winning player's ROI" when determining the rake? So of the $500k I've wagered at cash tables this year, I've gotten less than 1% ROI. Stars please think of the cash game players.

Seems silly to do this in February instead of last December to not screw some people over who planned on these sticking around.

Suppose its a good thing they are getting rid of them though. Will be interesting to see what happens with the Fifty50s

While I rarely play the PLO DoNs much any more, I can say they never had the issues the NL ones did in terms of collusion or team play, and the rare time people tried that they generally got caught within 10 games (and usually they did not win anything anyway).

I do genuinely think Stars could keep the Omaha DoNs going and add O8 DoNs as well, or at least add the 50/50s to those game types.

In a Fifty50 tournament, if all 10 players go all-in pre-flop on the first hand and one player wins, how does the payout work? In a Fifty50 tournament, if a player cashes with one chip, how much money does he win ... a penny?

Ugh, I feel like I just got the wind knocked out of me. I don't want to have to learn to play a different game.

Not to mention, as someone else pointed out in this thread, 50/50's are as or more susceptible to collusion as DON's. Since delaying the end of the tournament is a good idea for deeper stacks, you can make more excuses for folding bigger hands in weird spots.

Also, since we're comparing them to DON's, I can't imagine regulars having nearly as big of an edge. If you consider the mistakes fish in DON's make; playing too many hands early, and calling too light in the late game, these are actually good adjustments to make for 50/50's, diminishing the good players edges.

I really have no idea what's sparking this decision, and am really upset by it. Here's to hoping you guys reconsider.

These are Fun!!

PWN'ED!!

To the ppl complaining etc,

You probably should just move on, learn another game etc. I doubt the DONs are ever coming back. It is probably a blessing in disguise and will make many of you better players. The fact is Stars is getting rid of them for the right reasons.
