And also, there were thousands of players that had plans to reach a certain amount of VPP for this year and now they won't be able to do it. Hundreds of them even going for Supernova Elite, like me.

The solution wasn't removing those games, but just adding 20bb cap tables. Removing options is always bad. Poker Stars should give more options to their players, so it's more probable that they find something they like, and therefore generate rake. Changing one kind of table for this one (20bb cap) in practice will just make it impossible to play shortstacked at many tables, hurting lots of players, and making the poker room lose hundreds of millions of dollars.

Just to make happy some 2+2 users (the vast majority of them don't even play much, just whine, whine and whine here) you, Poker Stars, have made your worst decision ever. You are going to regret doing this.

Also I don't really play cash games anyway. Especially hold em because I don't really like hold em. So the fish can move up and down and all around don't really matter to me.
Its really the only hobby I have and I really wanted to achieve supernova this year. A nice little goal I would like to get. I'm not putting 5k online to get reach that goal so good game. I need to do something more productive with my spare time anyways...

In the NVG forum there is a thread about the decline of poker because these online kiddies send so much hate to people they fell better than in the poker community. Just look at the hate I am getting. Players like me build the foundation for these socially akward kids to grind out their 30k profit each year(sik life bra). Oh well have fun...

You already made Poker Stars add the kind of game you wanted: 40bb-100bb, and also 100bb-250bb. But that wasn't enough, you also had to make the poker room remove the 20bb-50bb games.

CAP tables will be super fun, it's much more fun for casual players to force it all in with eachother again and again and again.
At 40-100bb players only tease you with their big stack, they very rarely push it into you, this is very unsatisfying.
shut up, you have men kissing in your avatar

Yep now they can just stay at the same table without having to worry about losing more than the cap. Now you need a new word for them. Maybe Cap Rats.

Yeah but cap games only start at .25/.50 now. This is going to throw a wrench in all the micro players bankrolls. Money is gone much quicker now. Pokerstars loses money and so will everyone else. At the end of the year we will see all the grinding "pros" blaming variance for their less than last year profits...

Hi Steve, nice job (very late, but "Mieux vaut tard que jamais" - "Better late than never").

Do you know if Stars.fr table will change in 40bb-100bb tables too (actually 35bb-100bb) ? And with obvious no CAP (with the rake, we cannot ).

I wonder how the ratio of the number of tables would change?
It is currently like 6:4:1 shallow/normal/deep right? Looking at FTP it seems like it will become 4:6:1 cap/normal/deep?
It would be funny if most fish played Cap lol

This is why all the FSers need to start a bunch of normal tables as soon as they pop and try the CAP tables before the 10th feb. The normal tables must look like the norm to the fishs.

Cool - great changes. If only there was a way to play a much quicker session without having to wait 30 min to get all your waitlists satisfied... if only there was something like Rush.

All in all though, I'm greatly pleased

Loooove these changes Stars, massively huge +1. It's going to be interesting to see where the fish migrate though. They still might end up playing more CAP tables instead of 40-100 tables, I really hope I'm wrong though.

So pompous of you to think 50 bb or whatever YOU decide is real poker and all other forms are.... well I don't know--- you tell me
Your argument is BS. Getting to the core of a good game is about making it a truly skillful game. Shortstacking is like making basketball goals 7 or 8 feet tall, or like lowering the net in tennis, like making pool tables smaller with bigger pockets etc, like creating a map in CounterStrike where the one shot, one kill sniper rifle is the only gun worth using. The deeper the stacks in Poker, the more skill comes in, the bigger mistakes a poor player can make, the more luck goes out the window and the truly good players rise to the top. The more you take away skill from the game, the more you bastardize that game and make it not "real". Maybe you should go buy the game of "Life" from toys r us and roll some dice, that's what shortstacking is like for poker.

Thanks Stars for making a move in the right direction, this should help to extend the life of online poker! Now we just need to get some US Legislation passed and we'll be sitting pretty. It would help if ALL poker players would unite to help make that happen!
