Thanks. GL with your chase, although it sounds like a massive amount of poker to be playing over 3 months.

stopped in to register my complaint about losing SNE status before the year is out.

Plan on getting it for the fourth consecutive year... I'm at 733K and got kinda lazy this year with MTTs and the WSOP.

Steve, maybe a thought - has pokerstars ever considered going to a rolling 12 month type thing? The same way it works now but you have a bit more flexibility as to when you start: On the first of the month, if you've gotten 1M VPP in the last year, you are SNE and will keep it with the same criteria as if it were the first of January.

It works well for players and it works well for stars (people aren't as likely to give up halfway through the year because they can't make it).

When would you make changes?

1st of the year when every one is starting SNE grind anyways. if a rolling calendar were implemented would this also mean no more losing the yearly SNE after 9 months?

i have a question about how milestones would work. how would they work?

an option here since it is a rolling calendar would be to make every million VPPs the same and every time they come around for 1m vpps they earned 2 tournament packages. another option would be same for every million except the $25k bonus every 1m VPPs past the first.

tbh im not sure why i even typed that (^^^^) out. ever since i wrote "since" i realized how i really dont like that idea. maybe it will give someone a good idea.

i am also scared of the rolling calendar because it is change, change scares me. its like a GF who wants to get married when everything is going great, why jeopardize this great thing with anything that might alter it.

Steve, any plans for run-it-twice on pokerstars? I think it'd be great as it reduces variance. Furthermore, its only an OPTION so if both players don't want it, it's not used.

What's the downside of allowing the RIT option?

I didn't think about this for long, but isn't the likelyhood of somebody going broke less if you can RIT? Because it will reduce your variance. The more people who go broke, the more people deposit??

On the other side, the longer everybody has a little money, the more hands are played in total, so more raked is earned. I'm not sure what's better for PokerStars.

It's being considered. These kinds of requests get the most attention in the software improvement thread.

But not everyone would start their SNE grind then, and there are also Supernova VIPs who work hard to hit annual milestones and don't like things changed when they're halfway towards their goal.

Anybody know if Stars fixed the bug where you don't get VPPs if you leave the table before the hand is over? It's incredible how much time I waste taking up seats at tables I am leaving when I could have snap-shutdown the table as soon as I fold my UTG hand.

a rolling calendar means you can start your year whenever you want right? so by starting at jan 1st it would change everything but everyone would be at 0 anyways. until this is mapped out exactly how everything will work and i understand it i cant say i how i will feel about it. i am still scared of change and leaning towards the way things are. sometimes (most of the time) simplicity is best.

but how would they account for milestones. that said if they could work it that way it could be good. The Jan/Dec nitfest could change due to people having their own end of year

You can choose from either January 7 (check in) - 16 (check out), or January
8 (check in) - 17 (check out) 2011. The Main Event will be taking place
between January 8 - 14.

If SNE was on a yearly basis, regardless of start time, I'd start grinding 2700 a day right now. Instead, I'm waiting until January 1st comes.

There would certainly be a lot more business from the people who have given up. You'd have the same thing carry over from those who were going for SN who also gave up.

You could even change the Silverstar / Goldstar / Platinum as well into a rolling monthly thing as well to even get the extra grinding out of the lower stakes players as well.

Would be an epic change.

Considering that each milestone bonus goes up in value, stars doesn't lose anything by giving each player a button to manually reset their calendar year whenever they choose to.

They need a level in between Supernova and SNE. 100k and 1M? I mean really? That's a GIGANTIC difference. How about a 500k level for SNMini-Elite?
