I would be surprised if it's much more than 60.

Keeping up the pace some of you guys are trying will burn you all out massively, I think alot will fall by the wayside.

Regular days off are essential if you want to keep your sanity in tact.

What do you think about a $20 bet. I bet that there will be 65 or more SNE's that make it in 2008.

Ha!

You think 100, I think 60... let's make the under/over 80 and you've got a bet.

Can I get in on this? FT transfer?

JK of course, I thought we would have 10-15 for 2007 (Nov 06). My guess for 08 is 60-77.

Hey. Do you have to pay for shipping when ordering some big stuff like tv or monitor via concierge service ? Im thinking of ordering desktop + monitor setup, but if i have to pay for the shipping then concierge would lose its value.

Yes, FPP cost is based on our total cost.

Scotty

If you don't mind, when you give updates could you include what the "on pace" figure is?

I'm gonna pull a Microbob here...

1000000vpps / 365 days = 2740

2740 * 29 (days so far) = 79460
01-29-2008 , 12:52 PM
-----1000000vpps / 365 days = 2740

366 Days - this year will be so much easier
01-29-2008 , 01:02 PM
Scotty, how long have you been working for Pokerstars?

Me too (Alphafoil).

Man, this leaderboard thing is totally ****ing with me. I feel like I'm playing a ton, and I'm barely within 20k of the bottom

Maybe there should be a separate leaderboard for those with a full-time non-poker job...
01-29-2008 , 02:47 PM
How about Stars kicking in extra 10k for the first player to achieve SNE?
01-29-2008 , 02:49 PM
Hm I'm pretty sure I'd be all for that idea.
01-29-2008 , 03:01 PM
I'm not "on pace" but I'll be getting supernova elite. And I'd suspect there will be over 100 this year.

Scotty, how many people were on pace for SNE after January 2007? I barely played on stars at all that month, and I suspect a lot of the other elites weren't on pace at that time either.
01-29-2008 , 03:16 PM
how bout anyone who reaches elite by 9 months of the year, gets an extra month of elite next year??

There were definitely some who were on pace at the end of January and dropped out.
01-29-2008 , 03:44 PM
Camel - I will take the over on 80 for up to $200.
01-29-2008 , 03:49 PM
chez - but there were others like Leatherass who didn't even start until April.
And thecamel had to crank it up in the last 3 weeks or so to make Elite and I recall him saying he was behind pace for most of the year. Whether he was behind pace on January 30 or not I have no idea.

This year is different than last year though. Pretty much everyone who might be interested in doing this already knows about it and is cranking it up somewhat in January. Last year it was announced kind of late and I don't think everyone knew about it and there wasn't as much readily available analysis as to the true value and/or benefits of Elite.

But there are also some players who should have a pretty decent chance of attaining Elite who are not currently on pace. I'm one of them and pokerboy might be another.
Maybe a guy like slammedfire and a couple others who cranked it up pretty hard at the end of last year and then took part of January to rest and recover and/or play in the Bahamas.

So of the 85 who are currently on pace certainly a few will be dropping out at some point.
But there will be others pulling a 'thecamel' perhaps who pretty much are behind pace all year and then crank it up the last 3 weeks of the year or whatever.
