Unless you get over 50% of the player base playing cash sitting out and not playing any games, then I don't think Stars will care. They are playing a big game here with all of us I see it unfolding a master plan by them to max the profit for them and really hurt the player, It scares me that they would need so much more money, but I guess its to cover all the losses they have had this year, same as FTP when they lost all the deposits from US but kept honoring them, they came up with lots of different ways to raise money lol.

So GL, I don`t play cash but I might 24 table along on same low stakes (unfort lol) tables and see what happens with the sitout. I wont play any Sng`s or multi`s as Ill be sitting out with all of you guys, if we can get 50% of the base sitting out it might do something, esp when shorthanded (the guys that are still playing) and realizing holycrap I am paying a lot of rake here 5 handed lol.

GL , I hope Stars comes up with a system that is more fair to the players, maybe even giving more back that the current system they have now.

Because its us the players that make and break poker, without all us on board it hurts so lets hope either they make the change, or the sitout works and can be withstanding so they have no choice, but you know they are not going to budge right..

Because they know that after the little sit out(well they hope lol) that everything will be ok again and their master plan works!

if this is true than its beyond my understanding that they wont lower the rake in order to make the games better for everyone.

Lets not forget Profit means real profit after caluclating ur expenses for advertisment, staff etc.....

I simply cant understand that they wont lower it

I see a lot of nominations, but does anyone represent the people who play micros or do any of the nominations for reps have any views on the way people who play micros are treated on Stars, or is this all just people who are SN/SNE?

I'm a SNG player but can highly sympathize with the plight of the cash players as they hurt us with changes a while back (plus our rake only being worth 5.5 like 6 max is lollable). As others have said divided we fall.

I think with these new promotions being shown people should double their efforts during the happy hour which will then get outraged emails from people who are just trying to play the happy hour promo, bringing heat from both sides.

Also if people are signing up for other sites to play after Jan 1st during the sitout or longterm we should avoid signing up through raketherake as their ceo went on record saying he suggested this to stars.

Karim Wilkins, the CEO of RakeTheRake, commented: "I think the move by PokerStars was expected. In fact I recommended the change to them earlier this year. It's the method most rooms use these days. Affiliates should be rewarded based only on the money their players' generate in rake. Our players are tight players so we will a drop in commission but I think it's perfectly fair." Source: http://pokerupdate.com/news/networks...e-rake-method/

Our affiliates should have our best intentions in mind not be in bed with the poker sites, he even says he expects a drop due to this.

So from what I understand pokerstars has agreed to not make any changes but will not be releasing a statement that declares it since then they would have to explain that people felt angered they were changing the rake to make more money. All in all though, they have given in to the demands and we're not sitting out?

I think it was very possible to do at PLO10. I was getting raked like hell there - even made platinum playing volume which wasn't ridiculously high some months.

So long as there's someone out there looking out for the little guys. There's a lot of people who barely make gold/platinum every month and are obviously going to lose out as a result of these changes too and feel it's important they're not overlooked even if they may only generate $5k a small amount in comparison to SNE players.

AFAIK, the change to WC and the sitout are both still on unless Stars agrees to a) not make any changes until negotiations are complete and b) the negotiations are scheduled to be completed in a reasonable time frame.

No, they haven't agreed to not make any changes. The strike is still planned.

it was thier when the promo came out. The $300 or $100 doesnt compensate worth **** for all of us who plan on grinding out an entire year with WC giving it to us from all angles.

Yeah, obvy. Just was wondering if they were adding little things to appease us.

Their not.. This promo was most likely made well ahead of the recent uproar. That promo came up with the page

As a limit guy I vote for Sect7G.

Don't take too long with this stars or at least cancel ALL changes until you meet the reps....my neteller account currently holds 100% of my online roll that was in stars up til a few days ago and it won't stay there long - shouldn't take too long to find a nice reload bonus or rakeback deal. Stars, you have the power to make the right move here by the players......otherwise stars will just become a site where people like me who have up til now have treated stars as our main site of choice will/may instead start just seeing stars as a whoring site with nice software that is mainly good for whoring any reload bonus then cashing out to go back and play at a site that gives us a better deal long term. This is not a good situation for stars to have people only playing when there is a bonus. (although with low clearance rates on bonus its not like they'll be losing monies. yeah ldo). Ive been a loyal stars CUSTOMER for many years but I've had enough thanks to this obvious further erosion of the vip program.

(although I kinda wish I didn't withdraw because if I want to deposit and sitout then you'd probably make me play through my deposit in order to withdraw it should sitting out not get the intended result from players perspective).

About the sit-outs, can we schedule it per stakes? So 1 hour per stake based on some kind of schedule.

That way we can maximize the effect and increase awareness.
