You know how screen sizes are measured, right? The number you see is the diagonal, and so is not proportional to the area, but to the square root of the area.
So
each of the two dimensions of a 30" monitor is 50% larger than the corresponding dimension of a 20" monitor. So, areawise, a 30" is over twice as big as the 20" (1.5*1.5=225% the area), assuming they are both, say, 16:9 widescreen.
